Took my first ride today and I hung up with two other guys that was testing their new nytro rtx's. One was overheating, both was toasting slides but the worst in my oppinion was all the ice building up in the tunnel and water spreading over the running boards. I had a phazer fx last year with the same stupid tunnel design as on this nytro's and I experienced HUGE ice build up problems and also got my pants soaking wet before it froze/was glued to the tunnel. The water spreading over the running boards on the nytro's was not as bad as on the phazer but the ice build up in the tunnel was exactly the same. From what I experienced last winter on my fx I would not buy another sled with this tunnel design ever!
The weight saving with the hole in the tunnel and the missing heat exhangers under the running boards are zero. It only looks good on the weight scale hanging in a showroom. In "real" life this sled becomes heavier case of all the ice build up than it would have been with the heat exhanger under running boards and with the same exhaust design as on rx1, rs models and apex.
One guy on the phazer forum last year took his fx in a hot garage and when the ice dropped from his sled he had it in something and weight it. If I dont remember wrong the weight stopped at 50 lbs/23kg.

my buddy owns a Phazer.. and it rides awsome in the really nasty stuff.. So much better than the apex.. because you can feel the weight difference..
If the new Fx nytro is anything like the phazer, than this might be the sled for you where you ride..

yea i rode a phazer to but anything will handle that nice with no power, ride a apex all day than jump on a phazer, comfy but what a difference in power i had to have the throttle ping every were i went, i want the power with the handling and was hoping that was in the nytro but i am going to take the advice and stick with my apex, might be throwing a boondocker turbo in it so i can just fly over the rough. any comments on that turbo, is it worht it for trail riding or are these things only for dragging
