Definitely possibleOne other thing that could be happening is that you are tapping the rev limiter.

The first year of the Winder, as aftermarket muffs were coming out, it was reported they would over-boost with no tune.

It’s definitely making sense. I’m installing the old muffler tomorrow.The first year of the Winder, as aftermarket muffs were coming out, it was reported they would over-boost with no tune.

I've seen your problem before and it definitely sounds like over-boost. You'll find out when you try the stock muffler.

Wait, you're running an aftermarket muffler on a stock sled?
If you are, that IS the problem. It will overboost and hits the boost cut, killing the sled momentarily. On top of that, most mufflers will also allow the engine to run too lean. Only one I know that does not overboost and hit boost cut and run too lean is the Hurricane Hindle.
