A buddy just bought a new SW. On the first ride, he noticed a loud noise from the primary when he lets off the throttle. The primary cover appears to be slamming against the primary bolt washers(2) when the primary relaxes. The weights do not appear to be touching the rollers when shut off. Is it common to have to thick washers on the primary bolt on the Sidewinder?

Do you have photos or videos
If it’s New it should be covered under warranty

The weights do not make contact with the rollers when shut off.

Beautiful harmonics causing rattle, normal on this motor. You’ll be ok

I only notice the clutch noise at idle, it's nothing compared to the drone of the exhaust after a few hours.

Does your exhaust drone? My stock exhaust is whisper quiet. I can only hear wind noise above 35mph. If i give it the beans i can a little exhaust but nothing approaching the 4 cylinder. Its nice to not have ringing in my ears after a ride.
Sorry, just noticed you have a different muffler.....

I have the Turbo Dynamics SQ muffler. After a while it wears me down. Might have my original muffler modified .

74Nitro, yes it’s much like the noise at the 34s mark, but to me it’s more of a metal on metal sound, and very sharp. It sounds worse than the video.

Hi Woody. It is metal on metal. That sound is made when the clutch returns to fully disengaged. The inside of the sliding sheave hits the spider.
It's normal so don't worry about it.
If that's not it then I don't know what it is.
:)
