I switched from Simons to PP's last year and am glad I did.

Thanks Ray, yes for the riding you have right out your door I would have to agree the Powder Pros would be the wonderful. I hope you and the family are doing well.

The family and I are doing good. We are building a new house and shop (bigger and better) so that has consumed our lives and not left a lot of time for sleds :-(
The PP's definately float better. The Simons track better on the trail, but only a little better. The bigest thing I didn't like about the Simons was with the extra weight of the RX-1 it seemed to me like the Simons took to much steering effort at low speeds.
Have a Merry Christmas!

What everyone else has basically said - simmons great on trail, Yamaha Mtn darts on trail, very good in the powder/off trail.Frostbite said:Thanks! Does anyone else have any experience with both types of skis?

True, maybe I should revise my question now?
How can the Yamaha Powder skis be equipped to have equal prowness on the trail and in the powder?
Maybe dually runners or the USI type (basically two stacked vertically on top of each other and welded in place) could do just that?
Years ago on my Exciter long track (before Verlin Simmons sent me a demo set of his new skis to try in 1993) I was welding two skags on top of each other and it actually worked quite well. I wonder....................

I have simmons and think they are the best in all conditions.
I ride in deep powder, groomed trails and off the beat and bath at 9000 elevation.

Thanks Muzzy! I tend to agree but that's without having tried the Yamaha powder skis yet.
Thanks for the input
