man i just cant get these things right.i am measuring 0 toe from the mounting brackets on the front and the back of the spindle and it still darts around, aany suggestions thanks

If you're measuring at the end of the mounting brackets, you may be quite a bit off on the end of the skis. I'd check toe again to be sure. Try the 2 x 4 method lined up against your track and measure as far forward and rearward on the skis as you can. Simmons at correct toe should not dart. Too much ski pressure maybe? Does it steer hard? If you keep sharp carbides on them with as little ski pressure as possible and zero toe, you should be all set.

Darting

I've let the front limiter strap all the way out and the skis are about 1/4 inch toe out and I've experienced very little darting through 2800 mile this winter. The snow conditions seem to dictate any real darting and man they have been ever changing this winter.

Good luck,

Dog

Hmmm???

My stock skis NEVER darted. When I threw the Simmons on 2 weeks ago, they worked perfect, and that's without changing the toe at all. BTW: The only time my sled ever darted was after I hit a rock and the bulkhead broke, causing the ski to camber. The edge kept getting stuck in the ruts.

But you will need to measure further away from the spindle. Have you shimmed the skis at all?

did you put the little plastic blocks between the saddle of the ski and the rubber bushing/ on the rear side ( rear of the spindle) when looking at the sled from the side

Ive just put a set on mine and ill tell you what... Thats the best $320 i spent on my RX. Heads an tails better then stock. I did ck toe with a 6ft pc of 1in angle laying along the track measuring out to 6in short of the back to just before the ski tips up. at 0 in out 2 thumbs up

Short spindles with a Apex rear skid prolly means alot of skii pressure. Have you tried increasing the ride height in the front by cranking the springs up a lil? I think its your front/rear suspension bias too much ride height in the back as compared to the front. Are those gyts off a apex or a vector?

I have two '04 Warriors one with stock skis with Berstrom carbides with the thicker ski saver and the shim / the other has Simmons with Berstrom on one edge -- regular skag on the other edge and the shim under the rubber boot / In 90% of the riding there is no marked difference --- certainly not $400 that the Simmons cost / for the other 10% sometimes the stock ski is better and sometimes it's the Simmons is better -- just depends on the snow and trail conditions

the shocks are off the apex, but yes the front end is a little low, i measure from carbide bolt to bolt and its pretty much 0 toe. i shimmed with some 1/8 alumminum under the ski and rear part of the rubber, maybe thats not enough
