Can you use the Skinz Float Plate with the Roest skid plate? Reason I ask is, someone said that the Skinz Plate is more for floating than protecting. Thanks.

I had a Skins on my RTX and loved it. I wacked some big stuff in Iowa ditches and it protects just fine. In ditches filled with fresh powder it held the frontend up and you could go where ever you wanted to go. I have a XTX now and it is going back on that.

I have a Roest Plate, that I love, but didn't know if a float plate like the Skinz one over the top of that would be overkill as I'm using it as a float plate, not skid plate.

I don't know for sure, but i guess that with both plates installed you will experience ice-buildup between the roest plate and the skinz plate.. Just like with the stock protector plate and any other skid plate.

That was almost a good enough reason to remove the skid plate on my sled.. It iced up until the sled almost stood on the skidplate, instead of the skis.

I'm taking my Skinz plate off and going with Roest Skid Plate- Skinz plate just collected snow and didn't seem on help the floation any better. PM me if anyone is interested in my Skinz plate-

What is this Roest plate you speak of? Oh yeah that's the metal plate under my sled that saved it's life last season! ;)!
