Hi all, wife and daughter now want there own sleds. Wife likes to ride my rx1 but thinks it is a little heavy for her
Daughter has just ridden and drove mine around yard.
Brand is open ( ski-doo is last choice)
All helpful ideas appreciated.
Daughter likes looks of polaris 550iq and artic cat f5 Luxor
Wife likes phazer and polaris iq
Thanks

Depends on riding style and skill. Even a beginner can learn skills quickly if they want to, so it is more what they want to do. If they want to get skilled, the Phazer is great and is one of the best riding sleds when it gets bumpy. Many want more power which the Nytro brings but it has to be ridden even more. I would also look at the new Viper but I haven't even ridden one yet. If they simply want to sit and drive (like a car) then the Vector is really nice.

vector with power steering is a great way to go and you can get them used , phazer and mountain . also MP IF YOU WANT A 2 up sled .. sorry all yamahas . ITS BETTER TO TOW THAN BE TOWED,,,LOL.

ME and my GF mainly ride mountain bust she has a 2011 rmk standard model and loves it. I just put the upgraded top end in it and it seems to run like a top now.

I personally think that any yamaha sled out there is to kuch for a girl to handle. Just to much weight for them to handle you gotta remember they are not 200+ like we are. But I suppose if you have to buy them a yamaha id go with a phazer probably.

2011+ APEX

My wife had never been on a sled, but we were tired of dreading Michigan winters. I started looking at what it would cost
to rent over a season, and decided to buy two 2005 Rx-1s instead, ride them, and then blow them out, if she didn't like it.

She does and she is all of 120 pounds. The RX-1 did give her a handful in the corners, but I think a lot of that was learning to ride.
Great excuse to trade up.

We are now both on our second season on 2011 APEX sleds. She loves the EPS. All I have done is some Stud Boy Duallies and a little
skid tuning. That's it. And she is right there with me all the time, now.

I would go do some demo rides. You might be surprised, what you end up bringing home.

the vector would be a good choice, my wife handles hers well and she only weights 125#, she has a lot of years riding, just takes some time getting use to a heavier machine.

My wife drives and really likes her 98 Vmax XTC 700. I got her to drive my sled and shes hates, absolutely hates it. I have also got her to drive a stock Nytro XTX and an Apex LTX with the same results - really dislikes them. She is a sit down rider and doesn't like where her knees hit the panels.

I have never driven a Phaser MTX, but on paper it looks like a perfect sled for both. As I assume you live in New Foundland, you would need a more off trail sled than on. (PS put your location on your profile)

Budget.. 3500 tops. I bought her a RX 1 and she likes it but thinks it too big kinda scare s her a bit
Found a like new 08 f570 Arctic cat with 800 miles and a 07 phazer with 3500 miles for the mkney

Same predicament here. I have a Nytro for myself and an 05rx1 for my wife to ride( if I can ever get it running right). I have thought of getting rid of the rx1 because I know it will be too much for her and picking up a phazer which I think would be perfect. Need to get my rx1 running and see how it goes but I am sure it will be too much for because the previous sled she rode was an 02 viper and at times that was too much.

My wife loved her Phazer but after many miles of trail touring, I thought it was time for her to upgrade. We bought her a 2012 Vector LTX with EPS and she loves it. She still drives slower than I do and that's not fast to start with but she loves the smooth ride. She did mention that the Phazer had better wind protection so I might look into a taller windshield for her.

I realize you have a budget of $3500 so an older Phazer or Vector might work out.

Polaris 600 engine powered sleds might be a good option, the newer the better.

Don't know the Arctic Cat line at all, no dealers up this way.

Ski-Doo 600 SDI or 500SS (600 carb) engines were pretty reliable too.
