I'm getting no errors. It will start every once in a while but sounds like its only running on 2 cylinders, then of course the sled shuts down.

FX Nytro Fuel Pump Relay
HELP!!! there is all this talk about changing the relay but how do you get at it on the NYTRO???? My wife and I both have chewed up hands trying to reach it and pop it out. We are obviously doing something wrong. Do you not just take off the front cover? ANYONE????

You can remove the panel that is behind the front shock on that side, its a bunch of pushpin things and a bolt or two i believe. Easier to get through with that panel removed.

Removed that panel - easier but still difficult to get at. We replaced the relay but still have error 43. anything else we can try?Zakre said:You can remove the panel that is behind the front shock on that side, its a bunch of pushpin things and a bolt or two i believe. Any solutions here? I have a 09, new to me. Seemed to run fine when I bought it in September and a couple rips around the yard. Trailered it today for 200 mi and went to start it up. It cranked over and over, spit and sputtered for a second or two. Then it back fired 3 times, I then killed the battery. Put in fresh gas with seafoam, plugs were wet, fuel pump runs and cranks good. Still nothing. Checked the ignition fuse, it is good too. I tried checking for spark by laying the spark plug on the head but didn't see anything. How else can I check for spark? Are there any other thoughts?

here are the relay locations, the relay for the starter is not hard to get at it is right next to the battery I would say 4/5 problems nytro owners have with starting there sled is due to the starter relay, and there isnt always a code, mine didnt throw a code, changed it anyways and voila started right up. try jumping the relay and if it cranks over its the relay... another common problem is the plugs get fouled really really easily on these sleds if your sled sounds like its running on 2 cylinders a plug is probably fouled. the coils for the plugs put out alot of juice and even tho it may show spark to the electrodes it may not be enough to start the ignition process in the cylinder.
old gas, ethenol fuel, too much fuel conditioner and fuel with more octane than needed can cause runnability problems also.
anyone who is having problems with their nytro should look in the nytro faq section and read thru EVERY post on there too try and find the problem they are having, the moderators have done a great job setting up that section for common problems and it very rarely gets used.

So the starter relay doesn't let the engine start even when it cranks over just fine? When the relay freezes on my rx, the starter doesn't get any juice when the relay acts up and doesn't crank at all. I guess I thought the nytro relay is the same but will jump it to see.
Currently, I am not getting any codes either. Thought it may be TORS but I tightened the cable until it did activate and then went fully loose, still nothing. I tried to over ride it, but the black and white plugs are not the same and are in the same location as a picture posted. Maybe I am not still looking at the correct plugs because I am 200 miles from my computer with the shop manual.
Anyways, I did run through EVERY FAQ and don't believe my issue is covered. I also used the search function which is why I asked if there was a solution to this thread started last year. I do have "new" CR10EK plugs (literally have one 5 min run around the yard on them). I plan to replace them today and see if that solves anything. The weird thing is that the only that changed was the trailering.

the starter relay will give a click sound but the engine wont turn over, so the test for the starter relay is have your ignition on and jump the realy it will turn over, then you know you need a new relay. so that wouldnt be the problem you are having. I wasnt directing my last post at you, I was just giving the relay locations and in my rush to head to work, I posted before I really should have.

the problem you are having sounds like a mix of bad gas at the begining, which fouled your plugs. did you remove the old fuel before putting the fresh in there? inspect the tank for water or debris? are you using 87octane straight fuel, ethonol blended fuel or higher octane fuel?

You hit the nail on the head, bad gas...overnight the sea foam must of soaked up the moisture in the old gas. Cranking over last night definitely fouled the plugs. This morning I pulled the plugs, cleaned them up, and put it back in. Started right up and pulled like a freight train again. Need to burn out this tank and should be good to go. Good luck to all else that go thru this issue.
