A quick question on slide replacement on a RS venture.Do you have to remouve the skid to replace them or can I pull them out from the track window.
On my 2005 I always remouved the skid and ALWAYS had a hard time installing the skid back under the sled .On my 2010 I have to replace them for this season and maybe thinking trying pulling them true the window.
Anybody done this before
Thanks again !

The above link has lots of ways to replace the hyfax. However, on my sled I needed to enlarge the track window a little with a sharp utility knife first. Then, the whole process was quite easy. You do not need to pull the rear suspension to do this.

You dont have to cut the windows either... spray the hole with silicone spray and they will come right thru.

I have a 2011 RS venture. I sprayed window...drove it back. ..until about 4" through...started her up...spun it in reverse. Installed new one...did the other one.
Didn't cut any windows.
I installed DuPont Vespa ones...over 6000km on them. More expensive...but that's all I'll use.

this is what i did when i did them on my brothers 20`13 rs venture gt. i used dish soap to slide the new set on. only thing i forgot was to pre cut the new ones as i was using apex xtx slide plastic witch was almost 12" longer than the venture plastic.

Definitely don't cut them. Put a little wd 40 or chassis grease on the window and get a lockjaw plier and clamp down hard on the slide once you have it next to window. Twist the slide slightly to the right to help it fit thru window and pull. I sprayed wd 40 on the sliders all the way along the chassis to help them slide out easier towards window and used a slide puller and hammer and drift to work them off. Just be careful not to damage where they slide on.
