"Look at the location of the front radiator on a rush and think about the last time you were going thru a brush patch."
It's a heat exchanger not a rad, I ride with Polaris Rush guys, they have had no overheating issues. If you think about all the crap that gets thrown at the apex front heat exchanger from the track when you get on the throttle, they can take a fair amount of abuse.
My tunnel with tunnel protectors is always packed with snow, my buddy's 07 gt with tunnel protection removed is bare. He is always carrying 20lb. less ice in the back! He has no overheating issues, nor do I unless we get in marginal snow or extended slow riding without dipping into deeper snow.

I bought an Apex MTX this winter and the first thing I did was put Ice Scratchers on... Never Over heated when they were down and was able to get over 1000 miles without major melting on the slides. I did replace at 1000 miles but I bet I will had a bunch of miles left. The reason I changed slides is because I had the sled up in the garage and it only really takes about 30 minutes to change them out. If I ever went back to a shorty track I would definitly put another set of ice scratchers on. They make a world of difference.
