sticky sticky dupont slides

kviper you are absolutely right. DuPont slides do cause a sticking (or drag problem) after a hard run, stop at a road or on the trail. Lots of snow, warm day or cold.They can stick to the point that if you do a hard hard run, come to a dead stop, sit for a while then roll away it can even squeal the belt. I tried this several times same day, same place, then pulled sled in shop and took off sticky ponts, Put on used slides off my 2011 se. Went back out same place, did same hard runs, sticking problem gone. No belt burn when pulling away. Also felt track clips immediately after stopping. Dupont slides do make clips hotter. 2015 se, 2800 miles, track adjusted correctly good belt. Back to good old hyfax. Just wondering what damage it is doing to our track clips with the additional heat?

Hmmm, thats strange, I have been using the duponts for two years, they have never gotten sticky & they still look like new, no wear. You say they get sticky even with lots of snow, wonder if something else is causing them to get sticky, track too tight?

sorry should of said lots of snow or marginal snow conditions same results

Maybe there have been some bad batches of Du Pont's? I have several thousand miles on mine now, and I still have the problem of when I come to a stop if I'm on any type of inclined surface I have to set my parking brake so I don't keep rolling down the hill. I still find them very slippery and have not experienced any stick. I ride a lot of varied trails as well, so I've done 100 mph runs followed by a quick stop at the next road; then taking off again and doing another hard run.

no sticking issues for me either, 5,000+kms in all sorts of conditions. I do run the Pioneer wheel mount kit though, maybe that has something to do with it.

I've said it before, if the sliders do not wear then something else will when there is little snow for lube and that would be the metal clips. i'd rather change the sliders then the clips . i get well over 5000 km on a set of regular sliders after i added 6 oversize idlers and 2 sets of marginal wheels

I put cheap blue slides on from Yamaha and have 2600 miles and I'm still running them I can buy a lot of cheap slides vs duponts lmao

Well all I know is there's somthing going on! I will try going back to standard hifax next year just to try it. A friend had the Duponts on his XTX and didn't notice any extra drag?
