I've been running Slydogs trail skis on 06 and 07 Attaks for two seasons(over 5000 miles) with Bergstrom 6 inch triplepoints and Skisavers. Last season(skis were unshimmed) I sent used skisavers with 3000 Miles to Scott B for his review. This season we've been testing shimming the front of the Slydogs to get perfect front to rear Balance. Wear pattern on bars and skisavers indicated to Scott the need to shim in front. We first tried a 3/16 shim and it moved wear pattern forward some. Then we tried 1/4 shim and pattern looks perfect. Performance great, perhaps less tendency to push. Skis are setup per Allan Ulmer 1/8 toe in. Still zero darting. Thought we should share this info for Slydog users. Any questions feel free to PM me or call Scott Bergstrom. This may be overkill as I was happy with overall performance of Slydogs and Bergstrom products last year.

Ah, so you were the guy Scott was referring to. I spoke with Scott today about my order staus and ask a few pre-install questions. Heres a thread a started.

Do you think this all applies to the RX-1?

I plan on shimming the fronts when I install my new runners. The set of runners I took off my Slydogs were so worn down at the back, even the rear carbide wearpads were gone.
They do put a lot of pressure on the back of the ski.

Nice post! Rear pressure shimming is only needed with darting which is the front of the keel or carbide dropping into a slot left by a previous ski track. Shimming more than that, if that is an issue is just going to cause uneven carbide wear. Using Slydog or Doo stoppers may require a follow up look to check wear pattern to make sure you only have the rear pressure bias needed to avoid darting.

I ran slydogs with bergstrom triples for two seasons, until last week when I broke one in half. I had them shimmed in the back as usual, and the carbides were still in great shape.
