I have read many solutions to slider wear on the XTX. For those who have tried the Slydog wheels, since they are ~5-3/8" in diameter, did you notice reduced slider wear. The stock wheels are 5" and all the articles I read indicate a larger wheel will work.
Also, do the Slydog wheels need different mounts or do they simply bolt right on. My local dealer who sells Slydog products couldn't answer my questions.
Thanks in advance for any help!

i put the slydogs on my rtx a few weeks ago.... the bottom/front wheels do NOT bolt right on, and the bolts they send you do NOT thread into the stock mounts which blows my mind.... SEND THE CORRECT BOLTS !!!!!! But the wheels are sweet !!!!!!!!!!

For the inside wheels you will have to machine/grind the mounts to make them line up within the drive cogs of the track. The outside wheels you can bolt right on if you have long enough bolts. You should probably go buy longer metric bolts.
slydog wheels or any 135mm wheel will work, they all have the thicker 6205 bearing.
You can make the inside mounts work by using a grinder or a good file. Take the stock mounts off and put a stock wheel on one stock mount, then take the other stock mount and the bigger wheel on the stock mount and put them side by side...you will see how much you need to remove off the mounts to make them work. make sense?

I have had my wheels on since about 300 miles and currently have 5100 miles on my sled and I am on my second set of slides. They do bolt on with no mods, at least the outer wheels that is. I have had very good luck with these and they have held up well. My slides seem to wear till the last 1/8th inch of the line then stop and stay that way the whole season. BTW I am looking to sell the skis and wheels this summer and buy new ones (different color) since the blue dosent fit my color scheme. 300 takes the whole deal 8 wheels and a pair of powder hounds with 9in shapers w/80% life.
A buddy of mine made me up a small wheel kit for the front ( at the approach angle ) and a single bolt Ski Doo wheel kit ( machined to accept a Yamaha wheel ) and I am having the same results as SDR..1/8 from the wear line and stays..close to 800 miles on them and they havent moved...I'll try to post pics cause it cost me about $80 in parts.

Installed 6 doo wheels about 900 miles ago. No machining required at least on my 08 fx. Not a mm of wear. This is after riding on nothing but cat tails for10 miles and poorer conditions than normal. Not even an issue anymore. May not be as easy on newer Nytros, just adding my .02 worth.
