so guys, take it easy going offtrail in the early season snow conditions most all of us have.
Was going into a 4' drift at 10mph and smoked a 10" dia log butt buried under the snow. had the bars slightly turned and took the hit directly to the spindle on the outside. got thrown from the machine and after walking back thought i was all good, shocks still centered...then i pulled the front end away from the tree and my ski was kicked in under the sled on a 45.
spindle was cracked but still kinda hanging on.
Knew better then to straighten it.
got 3 miles like this@20mph then sled tries to throw me in the bushes.
spindle broke.
so now i set the broken upper down next to the lower piece still bolted to the ski and lash them together through all the holes with 25ft of nylon mule. (@4degrees fahrenheit)
get a mile like this and it steers me off trail again.
come to find out i broke the lower balljoint bolt as well. so now im like how the f am i gonna tye this together?
lucky for me 3 guys on arctic cats stopped and one had a crash kit with a bolt just the size i needed. replaced bolt and carried on with my lashed up spindle arrangement. remaining 15miles at 20mph with no incident.
Got it on the trailer and called Rev-It-Up and he had the spindle in STOCK!! had it fixed in 45 minutes and i was all good for riding on sunday.
Cannot believe the subframe took the hit.
wanna play u gotta pay :o|

I did the same thing with a rock my first ride this year. Unfortunately I also bent my lower a-arm and it's mounting bolts as well as the carbide and ski bolt and collar on the ski that took the hit. Granted I was doing closer to 30mph when I hit.

$238. was just happy the local dealer had it so i could ride sunday. it was a expensive early season trip as it was, and it would have really sucked to just be for one day and 54 miles.
granted sunday was -12f, but i still enjoyed 75 miles of riding.
was really glad to have a tall windshield and side deflectors let me tell you.

Your lucky a local dealer had them in stock. I checked every dealer within 100 miles and nobody had them in stock. Ordered and it took 3 days to get. $231.00 each!! :o|

That sucks groomer, did you do riding local or go away, I am heading up to Eustis on thurs. to finally get a good ride in, glad your ok and she is back together.
