Picked up my sled Friday and rode Sunday. My question is i expected the snowtrackers to bite way better than this set does. Now I looked and the dealer did put a carbide on but I'm not sure if they are indeed snowtrackers or not. On glare ice the front pushed with barely any bite. Now they could have screwed up because they originally put shapers on and I wanted snowtrackers so they brought the sled back in and supposedly swapped them out but I expected alot better for carbides that cost 250 bucks. My old Apex with Curve skis and 2 season old shaper bars bite better than my brand new setup. So I'm guessing I got screwed probably due to miscommunication or these snowtrackers suck.

Snowtrackers are very easy to distinguish as they are just plain goofy looking. Center runner is flat steel like a double thick hockey skate blade. There is an outer dual cup like an upside down U

Trackers do an excellent job of steering in most any condition without excessive effort.

I have snowtrackers on and still getting the set up correct. I need more ski pressure at this point but they work great on trails.

I think what you are going to find is that the Tuner's dual keel concept is just plain a poor design. When you steer you transfer weight from one keel to the other. I think that the Tracker concept for the single keel ski is about as good as it gets.

For more ski pressure believe it or not if you open up the rebound valving a bit on the rear skid shock makes a huge difference.

The snowtrackers for the tuner III double carbide is a modified version of the single keel snowtracker, better than stock but not as effective as single keel. I went with stock Arctic Cat single keel skis and put traditional aggressive snowtrackers on. They are unreal, turn on a dime, almost too much on hard pack tight trails!

Thanks guys for the input I'll mess around a little with my setup and see how it goes. But I have a feeling a set of Curve skis are in the future.

What he said. Trackers are the real deal, but Tuners not so much...

Just tried mine last night on bare ice with a inch of snow and it turned for crap. I know in snow they will work good but not impressed on the ice. Maybe I need a little more ski pressure.

I know it is an old thread, but in case anyone is researching Snow Trackers on Tuner skis, I wanted to add my "two cents." I am a big fan of Snow Trackers on single keel skis, whether Yamaha skis on Apex and Vectors, or Arctic Cat skis on Pro Cross. I think they are great. I just bought a new Sidewinder LTX-DX, and because of an upcoming trip, I did not have time to buy the Arctic Cat skis and Snow Trackers I had intended to install. I just had the dealer install Snow Trackers on the Tuners. After about 300 miles for me, and 500 miles for my buddy who go the same combination for his Winder, we give Snow Trackers a solid A-. They are not perfect in every condition; I suspect that no ski/carbide combination is. They do not dart, and they feel very solid in the corners. I experienced a little push in loose snow, but still felt confident in the corners. I think Tuners are a terrible ski, but the reality is that putting Trackers on the Tuners totally redesigns the ski into something that actually works. Putting Trackers on Tuners may be the best blend of performance and cost effectiveness for people buying new Vipers or Sidewinders.

There looks to be a up dated snow trackers these look to be earlier style

These are the ones I just put on . Haven’t tested on glare ice but I would say work pretty good on every thing else . No darting with 1/2 inch preload on center spring.

I didn't realize that there was a prior version of the Snow Trackers for the Tuners, but I clearly have the version shown in you last photographs. Thankfully, the snow conditions in my area have been exceptional so far this year, and I have not had to deal with glare ice either, but certainly in the parking lot at slow speeds, these trackers have worked very well on the ice that I have encountered there.

I have a 4-500 mile Canada trip coming up (I hope) this weekend, and hopefully will have a lot more experience with the Tuners and Trackers, but so far, I am very happy with them.
