I still had a good 500 miles left but did not want to change mid trip. Well my wondering was over once you look at how and where people ride. Old school riders are always getting fresh snow when they can to lube the sliders. Most guys look at you funny if they see you doing that. Best yet are the idots that cant figure out the difference between a sherman tank and a snowmobile. Sherman tanks can drive down roads for hours with no problems but snowmobiles for some reason burn sliders when idots cant stand a few bumps riding into town and decide to ride down the middle of the bare or pure ice roads. I can smell the sliders burning from a mile back. So When someone bitches bout sliders or bend frames, etc. yeh it might be a problem with sled but many times its the rider. I love my xtx. Its not perfect but nothing is for everybody. My nytro has never left me stranded, its towed many of sled of different color and no i have never had to bring pistons and rings on my trip so I could rebuild my engine in the parking lot to mabe ride the last day of trip. Some people should not even be riding sleds.
Tell us how you really feel......hahaha Good point....

I just had all of the upper a-arm bushings replaced on my 09 XTX (1500 miles)...they wore out, and had tons of slop and free play. Yamaha wouldn't warranty it. WTF? So they replaced them with the same part....does that mean I'll have to replace them again, after 1500 miles?
Come on.....thats BS. I'm gonna ride the Ski Doo from now on.

Note to xtx622kane! I've ridden sleds for over 30 yrs and put on tons of miles. Never, ever had slide problems before! But I must agree with you, I and every else having hyfax problems, drive like complete idiots, don't look for fresh snow and don't have any idea about setting up a sled ! You're right on man, NOTHING wrong with design of suspension!

not sure if this will help...but 620 miles and tight on a 09 xtx...greased with a lithium complex and a small paint brush dabbing into the ball/heim joints before each ride..
Ive been accused of bleeding blue...IMHO Yamaha has gotten lax on the periphials over the last few years...there is definately things wrong with these sleds and if it was made by a chinese firm it would have been expected...Not Yamaha..as much as I loved my XTX's power and basic design...one shouldnt have to do so much to a $10,000 snowmobile to try to cure issues that shouldnt be there...period

SJ ,could not have said it better myself. You've summed up my and many other Yamaha riders feelings. These sleds(Nytros, Apexes, and Phasers) have the potential to be industry leaders by a wide margin but have chosen to almost be bystanders. Thanks for your post.

Im worried that if Yamaha continues to neglect the small things, I may have to have a "BlueBlood" transfusion in order to stay loyal!

I've been on a mission to fix all the dumb issues with my 09 XTX.
And still working on it.
Have I spent way more than I needed on aftermarket?
Hell YES.
But, so far I don't see any other models out there from any brands that excite me enough yet.

X2 Mach 9 Still waiting for perfect sled to be built.
Just got back from local poker derby. Maybe 100 sleds, new and not so new, only sleds that really interest me are the Yamaha Nytros. Go figure.

Yup Yup Yup!!! I'm up to $2k spent on a brand new Nytro to make it the sled I thought I was getting in the beginning. But I'm pretty sure the grass isn't greener on the other side. I ride with Doo & Poo boys and they are always screaming about what they've had to do for mods & fixes.

yes...but their handwarmers work...have a real gas tank...dont build up 30 lbs. of ice on a weekend ride...there slides arent shot in 1000 miles and they have skis that are decent..most of the stuff is elective...which we all do
