Yamahnator, the question was asked and we answered. We realize that this is the price we must pay and all I'm saying is that I really need to put this into perspective. I'm not saying the sled isn't worth the price, what my point was is it worth that much money to me for something I actually use maybe 6-8 weeks a year :ORC

Yes, I would have like an all Black Seat. I don't mind the black tunnel as long as it does not rub off. But, what's the chances of that?BlueByYou2000 said:Seat colors...BBY

I really shouldn't of read this post......................I'm thinking of all the other things I could get for that kinda cash :ORC
Its funny you say that, Im doing the same thing. Sitting here in balmy summer weather thinking maybe I dont need to spend that $10k on a new sled. Id really like a new shelby mustang next year, 10 grand is a nice chunk of that..LOL I guess theres ALWAYS something to spend it on.
I hear you, I should be building my garage, then buying a new sled this year.

Price doesn't bother me one bit!!!
If the sled does what it should & there is no problems with something stupid, like cooling & parts braking, it will be fine!!!!!!!
You should get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The seat looks to be the biggest problem to me other than no bright red available!!! The seat should be the same color of the sled or black & the rear compartment cover looked like a cheap after thought on the protos!!!
Maybe, just maybe they made that look & operate better after everyones comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A color & trim selection for Power Surge next year would be the best thing that could happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ONLY 176 DAYS TOOOO GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well firstly, Ya the price sucks, but it is the price to play and if these 06's were not as good as they are it would have never happened becuase I would have bought a new Moomba boat!
windshield is useless but if it didn't come with it I would have bought one anyways.
The grey grills I don't like so they will be chromed aswell as the exhaust covers(like the Vector GT) and probably the Springs on the front shocks.
And I don't like stickers so most of them will go aswell.
So I like that they didn't do these items so now I have something to work on and make the sled look the way I want it to because if I don't have something to customize I'll go nuts come September!!!!
Snowy.

Yamahnator said:All you people complaining about price... Deal with it. It's called natural progression. Though it may suck it's the price you pay to have motorsports. You aren't going to get into an equal class sled from any other manufacturer really for any less.
Its the same with dirtbikes, four wheelers ect. Remember when dirt bikes new went for around 3k? Now they push 6. At least with the Yamaha you guys know that you're getting a motor that will last. Suspensions can be reinforced, fixed and even replaced for relatively small costs. Feel sorry for the guys who are buying Doo, paying the same amount pretty much and running that whole rings gambit. Or cat's where you never know if you're going to get a long lasting motor or one that dumps on you a week into the machine, like my friends.
This should not be a complaint.
I paid 7800 otd for my 03. If I get my Attack it's going to cost me 9300.00 otd. You talk about the problems Doo is having with rings. I don't think I need to pay close to 10 grand to have reliability. The pricing on sleds has gotten crazy across the board and there is less snow and more money to be spent on Gas, hotels, and miles to put on vehicles driving to find snow. The OEM's have bumped thier heads. More to the point people have bumped their heads. Yamaha has he best bang for the buck going. The Apex sleds can be ridden for 20 plus miles. No 2 stroke can claim that. That said is it really worth 10K? Most will say yes. I say no but in my case I wouldn't own anything other then a Yamaha. Dollar for dollar there isn't anything technology wise that can match theApex. Just seems like a long dollar!!!
You want to hear something funny. When I came home from the USMC in 93 I needed a cheap car. I bought a brand 2 door shadow with a stick. It cost me 9300.00 dollar's otd. I drove that car for 3 years everyday trouble free. If I lived in a south western climate I'd own a Bike. It would cost me a few hundred more then a Apex. I could ride it everyday. That would be worth the long dollar

If the price bothers you, then that's something you have to evaluate for yourself on your own priorities. If I'm shopping for a boat and decide hey, I want a Fountain over a Checkmate, the last thing I would be complaining about is the price. It's simply an accepted thing when you go into high end boats.
Performance and technology has increased on sleds dramatically. That comes at a price. So yes I'm sure they could still sell you the Phazer at bargain dollar if they brought it back complete stock, but you'd still be drivin around a phazer heh. Comon here. It comes with a price. Either you accept it or perhaps you need to evaluate what type of sled you should have. If its too expensive then that's your priorities coming into play. Not a manufacturer issue.

Your Comparison makes no sence. I'm not saying well I can get a F7 for 8K so the Yamaha is over priced . I'm saying sleds are all over priced for the ammount of time you can use them!!!! Plus I agree the Apex is the Top of the line out there. 10k is just huge in my opinion. Sorry
On a sie note hows Howard and his Brother doing? You having a good summer so far?

If we would give up 4 strokes & some of the lighter metals & plastic skis & long travel suspensions & great gauges & knowing we can make it to the next stop without having problems & not being able to get her fired right up in the next morning, then the price would be better or closer to what you guys want to spend!!!
We keep asking for more & more stuff every year & you guys want the price to stay the same too?????????????????
I'm very happy that for $8,836 I'm getting one hell'of a sled that has the best 136" suspension in the biz & the best 4 stroke in the biz & the best gauges in the biz & the best riding position in the biz & so-on & so-on!
It takes money to bring you all these things guys that you begged for & wanted for years, if we even could have dreamed these things 5-10 years ago!!!???
THANK YOU YAMAHA!!!

COLDONE: Everyone is untitled to an opinion on this. If your cool with the 10K great. The guy asked and I answered.
I'm tired of people telling me how I should feel and why I should feel how they do. I don't disagree that Yamaha has brought a lot to the table but 10 K is a lot for a 3 month Toy I'm sorry. That's my opinion. Don't tell me I'm wrong because there is no right or wrong in this just opinion.

Jason, I wasn't pointing this to you or anyone else, just all of us have to understand good things in life cost money!!
I don't think that $8836 for my Attak is 10k & I don't think its to much money as long as the sled does what it should do!!!
I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

My post was very relevant. Both of those boats are high end boats. Complaining that they are expensive is ridiculous. Yeah you could afford a Hummer or even a summer or winter camp for the amount you'd spend on a boat that really you're only going to use on sunny days 4 months of the year... Same deal. It's all in how you make your priorities. It's not a manufacturer issue.
