So, what do you not like on the apex..

My post was very relevant. Both of those boats are high end boats. Complaining that they are expensive is ridiculous. Yeah you could afford a Hummer or even a summer or winter camp for the amount you'd spend on a boat that really you're only going to use on sunny days 4 months of the year... Same deal. It's all in how you make your priorities. It's not a manufacturer issue.

I think your both missing the point. I'm tired of the debate. I agree with both you and coldones points. The Apex is the most advanced unit ever built to date. But tell me in 5 years what is a sled going to cost? 3 years ago you could get a Viper for 6800.00 OTD on a snow check. The Apex is far ahead of the Viper but 3K worth. The mono Shock skid is an improvement but the other three OEM's have had a superior ride for 5 years. AS far as I'm concerned it's Yamaha's problem to get the 4 strokes lighter and better handling and ride comfort. It shouldn't hit my pocket book if they want to compete with the lighter weight doo's, Cat's and Poo's. If that's the market they are after they should price them accordingly.

Again just my opinion.

I love Yamaha and I've been a loyal customer since 97. I wouldn't own a different sled. I think it's unfortunate that I can't voice my opinion on the cost without being beat up about it.

Geeze you guys do sound like ya need a crying towel if the price bothers ya that much. Heck last year i paid almost the same price for a loaded 50th with walker evans on my fusion, and all i had was problems, and only averaged 8mpg on a good day, plus my old 03 rx1 beat its best gps speed by 7 mph so complain about the seat, color, price and everything else you can dream up,and it wont begine to compare to the POS i had in 05 have a nice summer... ;)!

Price doesn't bother me one bit!!!

The seat looks to be the biggest problem to me other than no bright red available!!! The seat should be the same color of the sled or black & the rear compartment cover looked like a cheap after thought on the protos!!!

You will have to modify your seat. If the price doesn't bother you, then the seat shouldn't either. You got what you paid for, right?

I am ok with the price.
I JUST WANT MY ATTAK
My SRX was new in 98 its time for another new one.
Besides w/ all the stuff I have into the SRX THe ATTAK at 9161.00 is rather cheep

Who have you bashed on this site Tom? You run a good program here. I imagine you have some gripes about this stuff from time to time, but you keep it to yourself. Thats why this site is run in a good professional manner. That is something that all of us can appreciate.

I know there isnt many mountain guys in here but here is something relating to price.
I had over 14,000 in my 02 Mt Max to make it lighter, longer, and more HP. A stock Apex Mt would walk by me on a climb like I left a plug wire off!!!
Now, I paid 9010.00 for my Apex Mt and I dont have to put another dime into it to make it run awesome. Mod sleds are fun....But getting towed back to the truck is NOT! There is ALOT to be said for pull (actually turn key) and go reliabilty. ===SRXSRULE===

Come on guys, Heres 3 things you need to think about

Inflation
Higher steel prices
Much higher fuel prices

Is Yamaha supposed to absorb these costs? There isnt a business in the world that hasnt had increased production costs. If you want to talk about overpriced, go take a look at what you get for $9000 from Cat, Doo and Polaris...BBY

its the season thats causing this undo stress....LOL
Happens every year doesn't it? Used to be I could just go out, fire up the sled, smell that 2-stroke and get all happy again.

Even though I can afford the price of admission, I do agree that it's getting kind of high. Considering I no longer mod my sleds and the opportunities to ride seem fewer and farther between, I'd almost consider just renting machines.

3 month season, 12 weekends possible, Momma might allow me half of those so that's 12 riding days at say $200 per day that's $2,400 for the season, don't have to pull a trailer, hell don't even need to take the truck.... :?

Hmm, bought the Rage for $7,900 can get $5,500 to trade it, the depreciation is a wash.

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me......
:itchy:
