So who has cut down a 15" track and how did you do it?

I'm lookign to cut down a 15" track for my phazer and was hoping to get some pointers and ideas from others who have done it.

Flip the track inside-out so the lugs are on the inside. May need a bud to help. Lay a 6x6 piece of lumber inside the track for a spacer. Almost the whole lenght of the track. Set your TABLE SAW so it only cuts 1/2 an inch off of each side, flip the track around and do it again. After everything is done you should have a 14" wide track and just for some reasurence, run a blow torck along the cut sides. Good to go man. there is a video on youtube showing everything.

Tracks USA suggested zip tying the track as flat as possible then run it thru a table saw. I tried this and it worked really well except at the ends where it got a little rough, but acceptable and still is over 900 miles later. Your table saw is going to take a beating too.

A 1.25" ripsaw cut down to 14" works so much better on the trail than the stocker. If your still running stock front ski's, an upgrade might be necessary, ours pushes now.

i cut down a track with a circle saw. made a jig for the base. did it myself on top of saw-horses & a 2x12'. bungie'd the track up out of the way. i know it took longer than a tablesaw, thanks..cough.... BooRad, but it turned out alright.
i'll post up pics once i get my 136 extenders on soon.
