I have seen several people reporting on getting grooves in the primary sheaves yet I have not seem a solution.
I will be going on my third set of sheaves this year and it is quite an expensive repair. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to make the sheaves last longer?
A softer aftermarket belt will probably not make the grooves. However the softer belts will not last as long. Prolly about the same cost in the end? I like the stock 8DN's myself.
You dont have to replace them when they have the minor grooving in the bottom. It really doesnt hurt anything. Some things that help it is lower gearing in the chain case, slightly higher clutch engagement and a ramp profile that grips the belt firmer at lower rpms. Eric
