grizztracks Thanks for posting that diagram with the 2 types of relays that helped out alot, I need to purchace the relay holder if I want to use updated relay... just for the sake of knowing Im going to check if the relay holder seperates from the 09 relay Im bored no snow in southern minnesota :o|

I think Yamaha must have decided it is cheaper to sell the relay separate from the relay adapter to keep replacement costs down.

If you ever looked at a 2008-2010 relay closely, you'll notice that they are actually 2 pieces. The relay itself, and the adapter piece to allow it to be attached to the aluminum mounting plate. The adapter also weatherproofs the electrical connection to some extent.

Hopefully they made the adapter for 2011-2012 a bit more robust, because on the 2008-2010, you had to be very careful when separating the relay from the adapter as the 2 clips holding the whole thing together were very, very delicate.

The relay's being used on the Nytro are actually called Micro-ISO relays, and they are used in motorcycles and some auto's as well.

Very small form factor is one of their advantages. Freezing up for no particular reason is one of thier disadvantages.

I found that the load/fuel/fan relays are the exact same as the ones used in Nissan trucks and suvs. I paid $4.00 a piece at a Nissan dealer. Same manufacturer. Just take the relay from your sled with you to the dealership. I found a spare headlight relay on e-bay from a Yamaha grizzly for $10.00 vs $25 at the yamaha dealer.
