Hey guys
I just switched my RX-1 mountain to a 121 M-10 with 9 tooth drivers ,23/40 gears, wide front end. I was out for the first trip yesterday and noticed that my speed seemed low for what I was actually doing. Anyway a couple of my buddies with rx1's set there trip meters and at 22 km I was only reading 19.5km.
How can I correct this?? Is it the little gear on the clutch side of the dive axle??
Any help is appreciated. Also is the clutch setup the same on a RX1 shorty compared to a mountain?? Thanks

Mountain has 8 teeth drivers and you have changed it to 9T, it has been geared up about 12% so your dream meter is not dreaming anymore, it is showing more accurate readings now.

Stock
The stock drive ratio's are:
1.58 for the shorty(24/38) 9 tooth drivers
1.90 for mountain (21/40) 8 tooth
I'm running 23/40 which is 1.73 with the 9 tooth drivers which people told me was the best setup for getting some more top end.
I guess I'm wondering if I had put 24/38 with 9 tooth drivers , would the dream meter be correct after changing from the original mountain or is there somthing else that would have to change.

gear ratio has nothing to do with the speedo. the speedo has been correted by the 9 tooth drivers. by changeing drivers you have done the same thing as cuting teeth off of the speedo gear. now your meter does not dream any more as it should be very close atual speed.

If you want to fix this with out buying another speedo cluster just go and buy a [ Yellow box re-calibrator ] I donot know the web site off hand but try doing a search and i am sure you will find it, If not i will get it for you.
I have used this in my RX1 and it worked great and very easy to install

Yammy speedos are always off usually about 10 mph, they show you are going faster than you are. This was done on purpose so they could post all those impressive triple digit dream speeds. I had mine calibrated was 12 mph off. Fixed that problem, Now the triple digits are true. I dont know what the speedo shop did to correct this but it worked.
