Rear seat hand warmers are called "pockets". The passenger will have two sets to choose from.

I even put the SPI handwarmer kit on it and it apparently is not much better, even on high. Granted, I almost never ride on the back, so I have to go by what she says.

The only part left are the rails the seat attaches to. Un noticeable until your up close. To remove it takes about 2 min. Hand warmers could easily be added, get the RSI warmers, an wire them up to the battery, with a switch. Just make sure you leave your self a disconnect for when the seat is off the sled.

Can you sit back and trail tour with 2 people or do you have to be riding it hard (leaning hard)? If you just sit back (2up touring style) does it push through corners?

Don't have a seat jack but I do ride with my son (about 110 lbs.) and my xtx handles fine. If it's going to be a long ride I will set my torsion sping to High to handle the extra weight.

Seat works great. Dependent on how heavy your passenger is, depends on how I set up the torsion springs. As long as the passenger leans your all good.

depends on what you call sporty - I call this sporty 
and it will break trail just about anywhere 
the rear seat comes off with two bolts in about two minutes and the sled is sub 600lb ready to ride. you can't buy it like this off the showroom floor but it doesn't take much work to get it to this point.

I owned (or should say borrowed - long story) a similar sled (07 Legend 800 4 stroke) in the RF chassis and found it tippier than the VL because it has a narrower ski stance. The dealer even told me when I bought it that it was tippy - at least he was honest. BTW, if you call that model sporty I would call the VL sportier. The two-up seat can be removed for solo riding and there are lots of aftermarket parts that can be added because a lot of the Phazer stuff will fit. I didn't like the machine at first because of the tippy nature but now after some adjustments and new skis/carbides I have gotten used to the riding style that is required - a more aggressive ride. And I enjoy the ride and of course going solo it is even easier and more fun to handle. It is a unique looking sled and most people think it is ugly but that is in the eye of the beholder. But like I say, don't buy anything w/o a test ride. It is definitely not issue free but worth considering I think.
I'm surprised at so many recommendations on the Ski-doos on TY 4Stroke!! And calling the TUV sporty - I don't think so - it looks like an old style sled to me! I have never riden one but can't imagine throwing that around on tight trails.
