Hey guys! Snowchecked a LTX SE, this is my first 4 stroke, coming off a modified 02 srx, lol the need to go fast has diminished a little but the need for a more comfortable ride has increased!

My Dad just did a fall order on a ZR 7000 LXR... Does that count?
I have a feeling we will be seeing alot of the 7000 owners around here. Especially after we get our Vipers to beat them!

Subtle differences, but why the Cat over the Viper?

Maybe he likes to spend money on belts??? Coming off a AC for last season I know I did have issues with belts!!!

My Dad has been buying Cats since 1971 and is so brand loyal I think he'd quit riding before buying a different brand. There is no way he would have bought a Viper. I know it sounds crazy, but there are guys like that out there. I think the 7000 will be fine. They have made improvements to the AC clutches for 2014 and really it is only the 1100 Turbo that has serious belt problems.
Anyhow I had to work my butt off to convince him to spend a little more and go with the '14 7000 over a carryover '13 1100 NA. He already has an 1100 NA in the older chassis and I can't stand how that thing sounds and feels. Viberates at low RPM and sounds like a tractor. It goes OK, but feels like a dog compared to my Nytro. I think I helped him make the right choice and will be the most "Yamaha" he has ever ridden.
I'll let you guys know what I think of it this winter. I'm staying on my '12 Nytro XTX for a few more years. Hopefully there will be an all new real Yamaha when I'm ready to upgrade. With that said, I'll be excited to try out the 7000.
