To late, I just ordered a brand new one. It is on the way. Do you have pictures of your bulkhead saver kit for 08 vector? I would like to see that, as this summer I might buy the bulk head saver kit. ThanksI have some low mile used oem starters for $125 if interested.

Update on my sled. It has been awhile since I posted to you guys. Just got the starter and starter relay today. Tonight I installed the starter motor, and surprisingly it went very smooth to install it. I had a heck of a time getting the original one out. I think with putting it in, it had to do with I knew what I was doing. Vs when I took the starter out, I had no clue. Tomorrow I will be putting the new starter relay on, and putting the steering and motor mounts back together. Going to be getting the floats, and needle valves soon, then it is back to a 100% I hope. More pics, when I get more work done

That's quite the MacGyver hoist system there.

Does the starter come out from the bottom, or does the engine tilt forward for starter to come out the top?

Thing I am going to rope, my brother or dad into helping me get it back together. Well just for the steering and motor mount bolts.

LOL!!! Do you know what is funny, I was just watching Macgyver the other night. The hoist system works very well. Might not look the best, but go the job done. All it is boat winch mounted the center beam in the garage. I use the winch all the time, to put the rear suspension in my sled. Very quick and easy to install the rear suspension now. That's quite the MacGyver hoist system there.

The starter comes out of the bottom. I know on my sled, it had the older oil accesses plate. Which is plastic vs my brother has his 09 vector and a lot smaller oil assesses plate. So for mine, there was plenty of room to remove the starter, and install it. And if my brother had to replace his, he would have to tip the back of the motor to the front bumper. And if that would not do it, you would have to remove the whole motor. All I had to do, is lift the front of the motor up like 2-3 inches. And the starter came right out from the other side. It prob was not necessary how I took the exhaust clamps, and doughnuts off, as there might have been enough room to lift it 2-3 inches with the exhaust system hooked up. But like I said I am not sureDoes the starter come out from the bottom, or does the engine tilt forward for starter to come out the top?

Thanks! My 2008 Vector has the same access plate as yours. I'm just getting armed in case I ever need to change my starter. The starter comes out of the bottom. Yup, no problem. It is to bad, that in 09, they went to the small aluminum access plate. I think I did a lot more than I need to take the starter out. And if you ever had to replace your starter, I recommend taking that 2 inch rubber antifreeze hose off, or just take one side off, like I did. Makes life a lot easier. I think I am going to be replacing my starter relay every 10,000 miles or so, as I have seen what a bad relay does. Better safe than sorry. Thanks! My 2008 Vector has the same access plate as yours. I'm just getting armed in case I ever need to change my starter.

Was working on reassembling my sled. I cleaned the oil tank filter while I was at it. My grandfather said I should check it and clean it. He has 32,000 miles on an 05 Yamaha rage.

I have replaced the needle valves, with 3 brand new ones, have 3 new floats on the way ( but do not think that is the problem). So how I found out it is the fuel pump, is I took one of the hoses off at a time, when the motor is running. And I would try starting it to see if it would flutter with one of the hoses removed. And guess what, every time the longer vacuum hoses was removed and when I started it, it never fluttered!!!! So I am thinking this is the problem. Do I have to buy a brand new fuel pump, or do you think taking it apart and cleaning it will help? Thanks guys.
