...Agree that LB came up with with this idea at the first place... and if i recall properly, some of the blame was toward the CVK the way they work it would not help the fuel pump to re-prime the line.... so a little LowBlow to the vent and .. voila.
YEP! WORKED GREAT! BLEW IN THE LINE, ONE LITTLE CRANK, AND SECOND CRANK STARTED RIGHT UP! LAST YEAR I ALSO ALMOST KILLED THE BATTERY! THANK YOU!

I'm wondering if a little extra cranking to get the fuel up isn't a good thing. it allows the motor to build some oil pressure before it starts. Just another thought.

Two ways to look at that. Oil pressue builds much faster when the engine is running. Usually you want a fresh or dry engine to fire quickly to get oil to the journals faster.
