Has anyone else come across this problem? My last trip to the mountains I would get stuck or tip over on a slope, then i would pull my front end down hill to get out and then the sled wouldn't start. It would just crank and crank with the odd fire then sputter out. So I would have to pull the sled down to flat ground then it would fire up instantly.
No oil lights present
Kill switch was on
Removed fuel cap could hear the pump prime each time i turned the key. Although it did sound like it wasnt getting a lot of fuel you could hear it burbling. Then on flat sounded smooth.

I had this happen to me one time. I think what had happened, was that it got air in the fuel system and it effected the smart valve in the fuel tank somehow. In this case my fuel level was fairly low at the time and same as you I was stuck at a steep angle, also I noticed that the fuel pump didn't sound quite right as well.
I also had to pull it down to level ground and it took a long time to get it started. A couple of times it would try to fire and the exhaust smelled very lean while this was happening. I ended up just letting it sit for awhile and then retrying to start it periodically, finally it purged the air out and ran fine the rest of the day.
It happened just the one time and hasn't done it sense, although I try to make sure that I have a little more fuel in it when playing around on the slopes now!

Sounds like tip over lost oil prime, sled won't run without oil pressure. See Mtnviper above for kit to reprime on the go

Back up sled AC M7
I had this happen once last year after a long pull at WOT I ended up bailing close to the top of the mountain pulling the tether. So the engine went from WOT to off in a hurry I ended up rolling the sled twice to get into a position where I could sit on it and ride out. After several times of cranking it and hearing a pop every now and again I eventually ended up coasting the sled to the bottom of the valley and after about another 20 min it started up. I believe going from WOT to killing the engine flooded the engine because when it did finally start it smoked a bit (white smoke=unburned fuel) Talking to my dealer after the fact he told me to hold the throttle wide open and crank it for a couple of sec . When the ECU sees the throttle open on start up it will kill the injectors and let the fuel vapors exit the cylinders. Hope this helps

Ok I will try the throttle idea. This did happen to me twice now, once after i got stuck vertical and had to flip the sled end for end to get it un stuck. I do have a rollover valve and do still have prime issues constantly, the prime switch does not work for me to get oil prime. Only thing that works is putting the sled on its left side and shaking it. Really hope some one makes a fix for this problem really hard to ride a sled in the mountains when you have to man handle the sled to the left side each time you roll or tip.
My fuel was at about half a tank.
I also had the sled bog out like I was running out of fuel on some steep climbs.
Has anyone tried OSP fuel regulator and new pump head?

yup happened to me on a epic pow day, buddy got stuck, went to help stopped my sled pointing down on a real steep hill went to start fired up idled then died. actually had to be pulled down the hill cause snow was soft and wouldn't slide down on its own. hit flat ground fired right up. the pump is set up weird to me. if the black banana goes empty you loose prime.

Are those just screened pickups on the long tube or smartvalves?

Not 100% sure, I was told by some Cat guys that they are smart valves. However I've never pulled my fuel pump out to take a look!
I wonder. Was worried they would use them when sled first came out and was told they were eliminated. Sure look like them though.
Was a lot of issues with those smart valves on cats in 12 and 13. Seems they have them figured out again though.

Yes screened pickups and not sure if smart valves by cat pumps are up front not in the back. Last I was told anyways

Is that an after market pump installed in those pictures? Yea the black banana is suppose to be full of fuel at all times to help with slopes and such, but seems like it doesn't I was running out of fuel during climbs as well. Is this something you have tried?yup happened to me on a epic pow day, buddy got stuck, went to help stopped my sled pointing down on a real steep hill went to start fired up idled then died. actually had to be pulled down the hill cause snow was soft and wouldn't slide down on its own. hit flat ground fired right up. the pump is set up weird to me. if the black banana goes empty you loose prime.

I installed the larger pump from mpi and the 4th injector kit, was running lean on long pulls.
