Hello everyone!

I have to say thanks for this great site!!!

I have been a member of this site for awhile and have mostly tried to take in all of the excellent info that is available.. I am amazed at how much knowledge is located in just one place..

I currently own 2 03 RX1s'. A red ER and a silver LE My wife enjoys hers and will not let me touch it and mine is well, In pieces right now!! lol! I just cant let the old girl go. With the cost of a new sled and lack of snow at times I just cannot see upgrading. Plus I like the style of my sled.

Anyway... Long story short.. I have decided to install a cr tunnel and a expert X 144. Thanks for the parts Matt!! I am hoping to start the actual install this weekend providing everything shows up by then.. I will also be relocating the battery, installing a filter kit and installing a radiator for additional cooling.. I had a polaris prox installed previously which is for sale so I am very excited to see what this sled will be capable of when I am done..

If you have any info or advice, that would be greatly appreciated..

I will try to post some pics of the process..

Thanks

Hey Rob, welcome aboard! Your in Rochester, MN my hometown! I get back frequently to ride with my Dad.

Sounds like you have quite a project there, I have yet to do a tunnel replacement. If you ever have engine issues or something I can find my way around most all things mechanical on the sled to help you save time from learing the hard way :)

I still have not quite figured out the batt relocation I went to do it and just decided eh...screw it. Take lots of picts of that when you do it maybe I'll get the ambition to do it again! LOL Changing the oil filter this last weekend reminded me of how much I hate the curretn battery cage.

Only advice....have a air rivet gun, I dont have one or I would let you borrow it. That is a lot of rivets.

Is yours the LE or Red one?

have fun!

Hey Kinger! Thanks! I will keep you posted and yes air riveter all the way!!!!!

I have read alot of your posts! Keep up the good work.. And if you are up in this area give me a shout! WE could always take the groomer out!

And for those of you wondering I did not break the new groomer!! It was the other guy!! lol!

some pics...

Here are some pics of the tear down..

I know!! I rode the wifes sled around the block and she was waiting in the garge and told me to ride my own!! lol!

Good thing I have a couple of phasers I can take away from the kids!!!

I hope this is done next week! Oil change and battery relocate tonight!!

That is a funny sight!!! Good luck, we dont get that much snow anymore so this is bad timing on your part LOL....been there done that :)

Shoot me your number via Pm and I'll put it in my cell and give you a jingle sometime and we see if it works to meet up. I'll be there next weekend putting my dads vector back together.

After posting this I realized maybe it's not exactly in the right spot.. Oh well..

Done so far...

1. Battery relocated and installed.
2. Tunnel installed.
3. Carbs cleaned with new springs and jets installed.
4. K&N's installed. Still need to figure out the evac part?? I want to make
it maintenance free.. I will figure out something..

Things I still need to do..

1. Sync the carbs.. I have a Morgan Carb tune on the way. Only 85
bucks!!
2. Mod the stock seat.
3. Fab up a custom exhaust. I have some cans from an R1 that I need
to shorten possibly.. I really want to retain the stock look if possible..
4. Install the 144 Expert x
5. Install risor pivot and block..
6. And what ever else I am forgetting!!!

I will post some pics soon!

Sorry.. Pics are not in the right order..

Well I had the sled back together and ran it for a few miles but it is just way to loud with the exhaust I made! Sounds sweet but I can't deal with that on a long trip.. so back apart it came.. I have a dual tuner exhaust on the way so wil see how that works??

Other than that the 144 expert and CR tunnnel were an awesome addition to the sled. I can actually lift the rear of the sled even with the longer track and suspension on it.

I will get some updated pics soon.

Hey Rob, thanks for the picts on the batt reloc!

One question why did you want a new tunnel? I think it looks awesome but is there a weight reduction opportunity or something else? I know they are like $1500 aren't they?

Looks sweet man!

Like many others on this site I have a strong desire to be different and a wife that puts up with me!!!

I started to mod my own tunnel but things just were not looking the way I wanted them to. I wanted to go 144 and then I found the CR tunnel and the suspension from snowpromod on this site and it just worked out.. If I had not found the tunnel I would have stuck with the stock one. It was a used tunnel but he had it repowder coated so it looked new.

You should see it now with the custom reinforcement brackets I made for it. They look sweet on the black tunnel. Just need to polish them up and get my exhaust done.. Then I will post some more pics..

I have no idea how I got the pics to post twice??? weird!

Think Snow!!!

Rob
