Steering Post Bracket Update??

Anybody know if this is for strength or geometry? Or if it is needed for Vipers?

It doesn't list the kit for the FX7000 so I don't think it applies to the viper

Yeah I saw that, but still curious if it is for strength or geometery. I have a call in to a really sharp Cat dealer and he is researching it for me.

Cat dealer couldn't get the info either, but said he believed it was just a reinforcement.

Says this in the instructions........Update your steering post brackets to 2015 specifications
2015 models come stock with these brackets
Kit replaces your existing lower steering post mounting brackets with reinforced brackets

Made me wonder as the XF7000 is not listed as needing it, and both my Vipers are back together so I am not sure. Figured somebody had one apart and could look.

Best info I can find is the Cat has an aluminum brace that cracks, anybody have a Viper apart that can look and see if the Viper also has this same aluminum bracket?

That makes sense. That is why the update has the steel plate as well.
