Finally got some snow last night, only a few inches at my place. Had my buddies 7000 out for 10 miles or so between this more and this afternoon, this is the first its been run enough to say so since last season. Sled felt strong, pulled a consistent 8700-8730 rpm, fairly short distance, top speed 78 mph, I have a marker where I let off every time. Decided today would be the day I put the modded air box on, a couple months ago I did the airbox mod on the one off my viper so it was all done and read to go. Rode the sled some before I made the switch, same 8700 at 78 mph. Pulled the sled in my basement at 2, at 4 I had it all back together and headed back out. First impression, it sounds awesome! Didn't notice a huge difference right away on the launch, pulled the same 8700 for about 200 feet and then it just kept gaining, pulled 8880-8900 spot on every time, definitely more mid range power, top speed in the same exact distance and conditions, 81 mph and it was definitely getting there quick. I take no credit for this other than being willing to do it and I'm glad I did, all credit goes to Stingray. Next on the list is going to be taller gearing, after I give that a few runs I'll be putting a d&d quiet can on and adjusting the clutching if needed.
