My brother just modded his on a Warrior and it sounds sweeeeet. Has anyone opened up an Apex muffler? Is it the same? There is a thread in the RX section with some pics and a video. He had a White Knuckle QC on before and it is a little quieter and has a more refined street bike sound.

i did my 06rtx muffler before it even had a mile on it,not much different than the rx1 muffler inside,i cut all the baffles out and about 1/2 of each glasspack and it sounds awesome, stock too quiet for me

Did my 03 rxi ,04 warrior,06 apex gt , cut the baffles out and added car exhaust adapters to tips ,polished with mothers for chrome finish .Great sound and have never been bothered for noise.Every one loves the sound!!!If you want to get everyone's attention just crack the throttle!!! ;)!

baffles

So how do you cut the baffles out? I thought the muffler was all welded together?

Sorry to be a pain in the #*$&@, lol...just really curious ;)

If you want to gut your exhaust , I,ve got a Hauck Pipe you could try and keep your stock exhaust intact. They do about the exact thing which is make your sled louder. Sweet sound if that is what you want.

So it sounds good? Not like a cheap (leaky) exhaust sound?

Also...so you take everything out on the inside of the muffler?...including the baffles attached to the inside walls of the muffler?

Thank you,

Has anyone cut out the pipes that run from one side to the other. There are 2 that run into all 3 chambers and they are perforated in the middle and both ends. I am going to cut both of the middle sections completley out and also the ends that go into the outside chambers. This way the exhaust still as to go through all of the chambers but it will free up a lot of restrictions. I want to keep it quiet but also free things up.

I use car exhaust pipe adapters , 1-13/16 OD x 1-3/4 slides tight over original pipes and puts the noise farther behind you.I think these are the size that i used ?I spot welded my tips for extra support.I cut the center out of the 2 big outlet pipes with a saw-saw and i can put them back in if i want.NO PICS!!! ;)!
