Countless times do we see users (even long term members) posting topics that have been covered a million times before. Many of these posts begin with "I know this probably has been discussed many times before, but ..."
Not only are these posts redundant, time consuming, frustrating and a waste of server space, but I'm sure it takes a lot of effort for the Mods to weed through these posts to delete them or merge them to exisiting posts.
Perhaps there could be some type of blurb added (like a pop up window) after you click the <New Topic> button stating something like "Before posting a topic, please do a search to see if your topic may have been discussed/addressed before..." Or it could be posted in the blank area where you would begin to type in the message body.
Hopefully this would reduce the clutter of redundant "NEW POSTS".

Users can also use Google to search for a topic or whatever. In google click advanced search. Type whatever words to search for. In the Domains field type: ty4stroke.com - now Google will only return topics found on ty4stroke.com
Google is a far superior search tool over the .php search engine used on TY.

I think this would really cut down on unnecessary posts, don't you?
