Any buddy have a clue what Yamaha is referring to? Is it similar to the Sabercat?

From what we can tell, its an error. There will still be an exhaust system under the seat, so no storage.

And what about THIS statement?
• Linear ratio stabilizer system is tuned for flat cornering (virtually no ski-lift) and exceptional big bump response.

Seems odd though to be a typo. They went out of their way to talk about it....
STORAGE
Leave at dawn, come back after dark. With storage under the seat of the RX-1, you can bring everything you need for a full day of trail domination.

It could be hollowed out similar to the Sabercat with a quick release system which you could not see and would not effect the exhaust. I agree that the statement was far too strong to be a typo.

I'm counting on it being true. The lack of storage is a major negative to me. My dealer says the storage will be incorporated into the seat by the time the 05's get to the customers.

Who said anything about it being a tpyo?
Probably the next line down on the list to type in was VK540, which DOES have underseat storage. Crooked eyes + wishful thinking.... or maybe they will be adding it... which means NO extra foam on the seat (for all you wusses who expect a softer seat).

Guys (and Gals) I gotta be honest widja here. I looked at the RX1 on yammies web site and I dont see any reason why they cant add a trunk to that seat. If you look under INNOVATION within the RX1 page you are offered three choices (ENGINE, SUSPENSION, or CHASIS)..Choose CHASIS and take a look at how the muflter sits. It seems as if the BOTTOM of the tail light housing sits higher than the TOP of the muffler. So to me their should be some room in that rear section of the seat for a trunk. With a little foam removal and a plastic insert you are there.
I hope (Pray) that they do offer it. But I dont see where they mention it in the context used abovt. ie: STORAGE: Full day on the trail????

You have to do a little investigation and realize that the guys who posted it are Canadian, so you have to look on the canadian site. But they obviously have a different form of English there since they talk about all sorts of things that don't agree with the US site. Like the RADICAL track, seat storage, and a few others.

I don't know about a different type of English.....
As for our Canadian Yamaha site, I pretty much ignore it due to the quality (Radical track and seat storage being prime examples) and use the US site for product info.
I don't know why they just don't leverage the US site which is much better and provide a pointer to Canadian specific pricing, spring promo, etc.
