I have a grand total of 97 miles on my Viper and have a stud pull through already. I have ran studs in my snowmobiles for years and have never had a pull through.
I don't know much about this sort of thing so I thought I would ask here. I was planning to go riding on Sunday and am wondering if this would be safe to run? It happens to be right over the wheel of the skid.

I would trim any loose chunks of rubber (looks like you may have one in the pic), melt the nylon cords back and ride it. Keep an eye on it, should be fine.

I personally would stick a heated cherry red butter knife in there quickly to fuse it back together. (I used to have 2 when I was much younger.)

I would do as Canoehead said and keep an eye on it.

iv got like 9 out just like that. first one was 2000 miles ago. hole never got any bigger. as long as its in the middle id say your fine.

Lol...my aunt could never figure out why the ends of her knives turned black sometimes

the turbo is taking its tole on the track! especially while climbing hills on the power lines in MI. 4 of us rode for miles and came to a steep hill and stopped. looked at each other and at the hill. not a word said for a minute. then i said "look out, I'm going up" from behind me i heard "your goona do WHAT" it was awesome! made it with ease.

they are woodys. for the 1 ply tracks. look just like steves. i keep an eye on the exchanger too. but ya something not good can happen. my next track will be an ice ripper 1.6 i think.

ltx. i belive they are single ply dont quote me. they look like steves though i know that!

You can actually fuse the rubber back together? I can't imagine that would do any good once the fiber cords have been ripped.

I must agree with Studroes that too few studs are no good in a sled with the HP and torque of the Viper. Maybe 144 in a stocker?

That may be the issue with the pull throughs, bigger heads on the ripsaw 2 track with the quite bumps may be causing them to tear the track. I have 2700 miles on my ltx with studs and have done countless dead stop launches on everything from snow to ice, grass, dirt even mud and all I've had are a handful that bent. Definitely shouldn't be tearing out that many studs
