So rather than hyjack another Freeride thread, I figured I would pose a question to the group on studding a 1.5" Freeride.
Normally, if the track were new, I would order studs just 1/8" longer than the lug. Since my freeride has a few thousand miles on it, would it make sense to order 1.5" studs? Or should I measure the lugs and go 1/8" longer?
For that matter, if I do 96 down the center, should I order 1.25" as the stock center lugs were 1.25" when it was new? I think that was the case with the freeride that only the outer lugs were 1.5". I would assume there has been some wear on those lugs.
Thanks for your input guys. Your advice is gold as always.

Mine has over 4K on it and some lugs are "scrubbed" down a bit on the tops from the lower snow/ road riding conditions the past 2 years.
I'd say measure the lugs where your gonna stud it then go a tad over the height with 'em. JMO

I agree.Mine has definitely lost some hieght also.Is also common practice that when replacing a broke off stud to try to match the height of the rest of the studs in track that are worn.

Was there a single ply and two ply version of the Freeride, or don't I have to worry about that when buying studs?
Should I also be putting in some protection over the front heat exchanger, or is that fairly safe when the track is spinning around the drivers?
Thanks guys,
