Freeride track opinions

I only edited a missing letter in a word :tg:
I wrote "anti stab kit", I never mentioned Yamaha wheels, hahaha ;-) (and again you have more posts than I have...)

The windows in the Freeride track are 28 mm wide and the Yamaha wide slides are 35 mm. That should anyway make it difficult to stab the track.
Windows in the OEM Yamaha Ripsaw track are actually 40 mm wide!!!

Yes now I understand it all. The narrow windows (and wide slides) are probably to protect the rails from going through the track when using anti ratchet drivers, and cut off rails. BINGO

"Put a 4x4 block under the track close to the front of the rails, have some one sit on the sled and look at the drivers to see if they are hitting the rails. The rails need to be able to run up past the drivers. "

todays track news :-o

Great Pics...did you finish the install, if you didn't, can you take a picture of the track under the sled with the front in the right spot and the rear pulled all the way back, even with your photoshopped pic, I'm not convinced that the tunnel won't need modifications with a 136" track at max suspension crush. Have you decided if you are changing the rear wheel size, I thought I read you had asked about it somewhere. Thanks.

The track just touches the upper middle of the flap at full bottoming. It looks as it doesn't touch the metal bar holding the flap, but the bar could easily be bent or modified an inch or so away. I already moved the rear of the tunnel over an inch backwards as you can see of my pics. So I don't think this will give me any problems running the 136" track.

I need a new freeride track! :o|

Hard landing and the track went off!

This is problem is solved now, Im getting a new track, rear axle and guidewheels on warranty. Dealer is also putting in a 4th wheel to prevent this from happening again. ;)!

Sounds good! I got my freeride track today. Will put it on tomorrow. Hope it prove to be worth the money.

Is everyone mostly getting the 121" freeride track?

Thats what Id like to get, dont know if I feel competent enough to install it myself. I've rebuilt engines, but Im scared of messing up something like this, seems like it requires alot of preknowledge.

Is this track a factory option, as in just order and get Yamaha to install?

Thx,

-Steve

Track

Well, I just put my 1.5" camoplast Freeride track on last night. It took about 2 hours to change, very simple. I purchased mine from tracks-use for $395 shipped. My personal opinion is, this track should have came on the sled stock! If you are ONLY riding hard packed groomed trails, then stay with the junk rip-saw or hack-saw. If you ride in more than 2"'s of snow. Definately get the free-ride. The old thumper likes to be worked.

Did the track change today. Also added the 4th wheel on the rear axle. Will test it tomorrow.

I wonder why the outer wheels are so far out. OK the track is narrow but it could be possible to cut the distance pipe 2-3 mm's to get the wheel further in without any problems I guess....

Because the track is only 14" wide. Its like you have cut 1,5" of each side of a 15" track. This track will fit right on vipers, srx'x, rx1, .............
