Ok what and how many do most of you guys run in this length? My old dealer said all of theres go out with 114 down the middle, this big track may not need much more as it may hook up good anyways, just insurance in icy corners IMO. if you stud two per bar it is 114 from what I hear, who has run this set up,and what length did you run,i have bought studs from Richie rich and his exstreem max studs do well lasting,i may try his Fat head studs as they have a very large 1.160" head, but there length is either 1.345 or 1.465 length,i have run 1.325 on a 1.25 track lug height and don't feel it provides enough penetration, but on only 114 studs I would be a little worried that if I did run the taller 1.465 it may try to hook up to hard and with only 114 may pull thru. So you guys who already owne this model and have it studded what direction would you go,dont forget I want this sled to run as fast as possible on top end,and tall studs do slow you down on top.

I wouldn't run anything taller then the 1.325" i run a 2-4 pattern. 2 singles then 2 doubles on the next bar.

forgot to mention too if your studding a new XTX, stay away from the very center of the track otherwise the stud heads will hit the upper rear shock and the lower front rear shock. i reccommend getting the kit for the upper rear shock from Ulmer to save the track from contacting the eye of the shock when the track comes over the top. also i have never shimmed my stock protectors and i now have 9700km without any issues whatsover.

I just studded after buying used xtx earlier this year. First time out today. 3 per row on inside. Awesome. Tracks so much better through corners. Did reinforcement on tunnel protectors too, got these from Port Yamaha. Do it, makes great sled better.

I went wth the prestuded 1 inch lug track and love it just the little extra you need for ice with out the loss of top end. with the 1 inch lug you lose some weight from the 1.25 lug and gain back from the pre stud. If i remember it was only 5 lbs more then the stock track. I have not noticed any loss of off trail abilitys if they do exist its not enough for me to notice but my top has not sufferd at all and i sold my almost new take off on ebay for almost as much as i paid for the new track the diffrence was less then the cost of studs. just my .02 for what its worth. and i woked with Rich on the track too they gave me a great price. I now have 3500 miles on that track and it is still in great shape.

From my experience. studding in the center with help with stop and acceleration. But if you want the bit for icy corners you need to stud the out side of your track. I have 216 woodys mega bites in a 136 cobra track on a turbo sled and have over 2000 miles without a pull thru or a bent stud. Track still looks brand new. Every other on the outside. Careful not to under stud! You get what you pay for.
