Need Snow, the 1.40's are just a tad longer than the 1.375's. Both lengths are what both Woodys and Extreme Max recommend for a 1.25 track. 144 is a good number for a 121" track...BBY
BBY,,,Thanks for the info. I love how the people on this site help each other out. When I pic up my 05 RX-1 this september I will probably drive some of you guys nuts with questions. It's just that I never dreamed I would buy a 4-stroke sled. The odd thing about it is a lot of the guys in my group that dont like YAMAHA's are looking forward to trying it out too. No one that I ride with has ever been on a 4-stroke, so it will be a new thing to all of us...Gary.

What is the most studs anyone put on a Warrior? I imagine a stock sled with over 200 of them wouldn't spin the track too much.

impala- I have 189 down the middle and still spin pretty good. It has great traction when moving, but nailing in from a stand still on ice breaks the track easy. To get better penetration and traction, you would have to stud the outside of the track too where there's more pressure, which I didn't want to do.

Monker, I've had 192 near the rails in the past and have seemed to like it. I'm running a shorty and will stud before next season. Why do you guys stud down the middle then?

When trying to decide how to stud it was a toss up. My reasoning was that just going down the middle would be good for an icy trail or stopping when I need to. This was the first sled that I ran studs on. My SX was light enough that I could muscle it around if I got in trouble on an icy hill or something. I didn't want to take that chance with my warrior. I was studding more for saftey than for hook up on ice. If I wanted to hook up I would run a 1" track and chissles. They lasted great last year, no bent studs, but I did break 3.

I first started with 164 down the middle. It was sufficient. Later in the season I addied another 54 to the outside rails. That was fine as well. Did not notice too much added push in the corners. The only difference that was in the toip end. Iève gotr the turbo so once you passed 130mph the track would ballon too much and ratchet.
