just wondering how the kold kutters hold up? And if u get good traction with them. Also I have a 1.6 track so what size kold kutters what I need

I used about 200 Kold Kutters 1" on my XTX . No miles on them yet. The 1" won't enter the reinforcements.

Yes, I used a small bit with tape for the depth.

I also dipped the bit in ice cold soapy water between each hole to keep it cold and lubed.

I cut my 1.6 down to a 1.375 and am adding about 500 to the track. Ran 800 or so in my SRX and it worked awesome, so much lighter than studs.

Yea the kold kutters would save a lot of weight and the cost is way less than studs

I used the carbide screw ins last year. I lost about 30 of them. The rest are ground down pretty good. I doubt the Kold Kutter will last very long I still have about 150 of the carbides in the 1.6" track and just added 148 studs. At 252 hp I was just spinning the track something awful. If you look closely you can see the screw ins on the outside paddles.

A guy I ride with uses the Kold Kutters and he has about 5000 miles on the first batch he put on. We replaced about 100 of them this season. He had a few with the heads broken off but none pulled out. The replacements were for wear, at 5000 miles the heads on a bunch of them were worn to the point where if he used them much longer he would not have been able to get them out.

He does not know if he put in the redesigned in 2011 or the old style. The new redesigned ones have a slightly taller head and higher rockwell hardness.

I will be able to report wear on mine as the season progresses.
