I'm anxiously awaiting my 07 RTX and the first of my installs will be studs. With the 1.25" Ripsaw what is the preferred brand and quanity of studs? Should I stud just down the middle or achieve as many scratch as possible? Secondly I plan on an aftermarket clutch kit during the season. Forgive my newness to all of this as I just jumped ship to YAMI  Any help would be great.

On the top of the page click on search and type in clutching, or whatever brand you are leaning towards and it should help you out, you'll get lots of info. As far as studding the 06's were kinda hit and miss with studding right down the center some of us had a few issues with studs rubbing on the shock, You have a different skid in the 07 so it might be ok, but you could always play it safe and stay away from the exact middle of the track, I put in 168 sabres / accord racing studs, they worked well in all conditions for me

1.325-1.375 lengths..

144-192 up the middle..

I like woodys and aluminum double backers..

I have 2200 miles on mine and they all look like new, even the tips

I used 168 1.325" Woody's Megabites with the 168 pattern on their template. I am very pleased with this setup. My sled is not clutched but I was told if it was I would need to go with about 192 instead of 168 and adjust the transfer rod for more transfer. If you don’t improve hook-up the clutch kit is pointless. I also opened all the closed windows on the track. The Hifax seem to wear better.
