- How do I remove the 14mm bolt on my secondary??

- I've got myself one those Easy Belt Change Tools, and I need to mount the hardware.

- In order to do it, the 14mm bolt has to come off.
- How do I "jam' the clutch so it doesn't move so I can get it off?

- All help is greatly appreciated!

Its pretty easy, just put the parking brake on or just hold the brake and turn the bolt with a ratchet.

also, after you get your socket and rachet on your sec bolt, use a rubber mallet and tap the rachet handle to break free. Than you should be able to just rachet off. just a reminder pay attention to all your spacer and washer locations so you can reinstall them in the right order. good luck

Also make sure when tightening the bolt that the spacers do not get pinched between the thick washer and the shaft. The shims should be placed up against the secondary with some amount of the shaft revealed.

- I never had to pull the secondary off.
- All I had to do was loosen the bolt, and remove it along with the thick washer.
- The Easy Belt Change hardware replaced the thick washer.
- I then put the bolt the bolt back in and torqued.

- I didn't see any shims?? Aren't they in behind??

Right, sometimes the spacers come off when the bolt and large washer are removed. Just stating that it can happen and it's something to be aware of.

Not sure on how your's is, but both my Apex and Nytro had shims on the outside of the secondary, these are used to set the primary to secondary offset. The shims I'm refering to are the ones on the outside of the secondary. What I would do is slide the sleeve in about half way, then place the shims on the sleeve, then slide the sleeve the remainder of the way, this keeps the shims on the sleeve so they don't drop between the sleeve and the large washer as you tighten. When it's all assembled, you should be able to take a small flat screwdriver and slide all the shims toward the secondary, completely separate from the large thick washer.

every one can be diffrent but all of them i have seen have thin shim washers there.and when all is tight they should be able to move. they can not fall out the back at all but can come off with the bolt and get dropped and not seen as they are thin.

- Only the "thick" flat washer, which was removed to have the collar put in it's place.

Might want to check your offset, there is a process thats outlined in the service manual (you can download it from this forum). It will improved belt life. You may just have all your shims on the inside, this could position the secondary too far outboard. If the outside shims are just missing, then you would essentially just have an increased amount of "float", which isn't good, but not the end of the world.
