very nice, but why the switch?
wasn't the old setup with the sc fast enough, lol

Its never fast enough and its time for a change - no sleds out there I like, so I'll just change this one around

Looks like Stone is gonna have his work cut out for him...looks killer so far!

Yeh you got that right but mine is a trail sled! :jump:

Any results?

Got 8 runs in yesterday, just mainly getting the fuel right, got it close. Was a extemly hot, bad air day with no traction. I have a lean bog right off the line, but after talking to Neil today at BOOST IT I think we got it figured out. Long story short I skipped one of the steps in the install attaching a line from the boost side ot the turbo to the BARO sensor thinking I could tune without it - my fault thinking I was smarter LOL! The fuel system works awesome, simple to adjust and supplys lots of fuel - first run was extremly rich running low 9 a/f . A few pushes of a button and it ws up into the high 10's. Support from Neil from Boost It has been great - returns all my calls as soon as he can. Set up is completely different with the turbo, the supercharge comes on hard right away - the turbo would bog then turn on hard spinning about 20 ft out. Hopefully with the Bog gone and then a bit of boost off the line I can get the 60ft's down.

Anyways best run of the day was at 14 pounds of boost - 9.85 @ 135.7 with a 1.56 60 ft(which is terrible) first run off the trailer was a 10.20 @ 124 running extremly rich. Overall it was a good day, lots of tuning to go, but the sled ran with no flaws and is still in one piece. Next time out I will get the boost up and work on clutching.

Im about to race my RX1 in the track for the first time. Its got a bender stage 2 but only gonna run 7lbs or so first time out.

What besides turbo has been done to your sled?

To run on the asphalt I have a proline skid, rx1 seat to lower seat position, I built a fuel cell, run 10 tooth drivers and a cool dlown system. It all goes back to stock to run in the winter except I run a 128 hacksaw track.

Robbie, what did you make the fuel cell out of? I'm thinking of doing something too. Do you need to keep the stock tank as a shell or does that plastic tank cover supports itself? I was thinking of using something like an oil injection can as the fuel cell?

I used the old tank as a base so I can still use the stock seat, I took a small nitrogen bottle and cut it in half and welded it all upto the right hieght, found a aluminum pipe that fit perect into the neck of the tank and welded it to the top. If you support the plastic where the filler neck goes through at the right hieght you can use anything under there - just remember the tank holds down the front of the stock seat. The old tank shell holds the fuel pump, filter and lines.

Were you ok with heat? I ended up having to buy the fiberglass hood because mine kept melting plastics. I would think you would have melted by now though if it was too hot.

Would you happen to have a pic of you fuel cell setup? Do you know if its technically legal? My rules say fuel cell and I read that as in fuel cell you'd see in a car an RCI type for example. Id like to get rid of my stock tank and relocate the battery and a small 2 gal. tank under there. Hopefully leaving room for a rear mount turbo right behind the steering post.

Heat was ok, between the coating and the shields which I insulated with heat reflector I could hold my hand on any of the panels - it was warm but definately not close to melting. After my last run I drove the sled back the return road and back to the pits and there was no problem - the sled got hot enough that the fan came on, and I wwas on and off it a bunch of times trying to get it hot.

I'll take a picture of it early next week - as for legal the only thing I know is I've been teched at a bunch of tracks with no problems
