Just got a call from Ulmer my sled dynoed out at 101hp to the track which at 55% drivetrain loss is ~183 hp it was this low because because I changed the set up completely from the first time it was on the same dyno.

Previous set up also at 134 track hp
10T drivers
25/42 gears
121 1" hacksaw track
72gram weights
shockwave helix
not sure on springs

After I made these changes it dropped to 101 hp at the track:
9T drivers
24/38 gearing
engine lost 800 rpm so I adjusted shockwave helix to compensate
151 predator x 13.5" track

So Allen changed the springs and had to remove the shockwave to get the trail crusiing RPM down a bit to save me some fuel and changed the weights to 82 grams. Now it pulled 134hp or roughly 243hp!

For those thinking it was the tracks fault it was not, I had a 121" cobra on it and it would only hit 108 mph last year (still faster then all other sleds in same conditions but WAY low compared to what I am used to) The 151 was added this summer and being a 13.5 its the same weight as the cobra.

I guess most of you might already know this but I keep reading the mpi FAQ's and they say "just add weight" to keep the revs happy and your golden. Not so mine ran 10,400-10,500 pulled hard felt great just no top end. I also blew the only belt in 4 years last year so I thought it was just old but it was generating a lot of heat.

So in summary if your boosted and want to ride and not mess with the art of clutching like me but get the MOST out of your sled, get it to a dyno at Ulmer's and let him adjust it. IMO there is no way to get it as close as he can with those tools at hand.

Unreal! Now we have the GO lets hope for SNOW.
