Monker, please put the puffer on before we go to ESTA the more forced induction in the Yamaha camp the better. I can't wait for that race. Doug

Nope, it's not going on until after (I won't have it until then anyway). 2 weekends in a row I've run back to back runs in eliminations within .01 of eachother. My sights are on the bracket race.

If there is anyone on this forum with a Powderlites turbo system on their sled I would really like to hear from you.So I guess nobody really knows if stacked head gaskets would work with pump premium on the super and has actually done it.Too bad ,I was kinda leaning towards it.

give tj sports a call they have ran them for a full season & have lots of good info they ran them with couple gaskets 93oc fuel at 10lbs without probs.you would be better running a shim from powder lights though.i think this has been said befor be it 10 or 15lbs boost from a turbo or sc it is the same on the motor it is just the recomendation of mpi to run race fuel for your saftey. guys have been running big boost on pump gas with turbos without to many issues.

Sorry for late reply
Yes stacked head gaskets will work with the sc and premium fuel. I think we are missing an important aspect here. 10 psi is 10 psi is psi, which means that roughly speaking 10 psi sc boost is the same as 10 psi turbo boost, the engine only knows how much boost it is receiving, not how the air is being compressed before it receives it. All this means is that no matter what you are running, turbo or sc, at 230+ hp you should be running at least 50/50 to be conservative and have the most room for safety. Some other companies may choose a different level of safety when it comes to fuel requirments but that doesn't mean there system wouldn't benefit from the better fuel.
Our system will run on good premium fuel just like every other system, however we cannot promise that you won't ever get a bad tank of premium which is why we recommend 50/50. Race fuel is almost always the same blend day in day out, which is partly why it costs what it costs.
The moral of the story is that our system is as flexable as the others, we just choose to be alittle more on the safe side for liability reasons.
Any questions just pm me or call

So running a 1000 ft run on 12 # should be no problem with 3 stock head gaskets on 91 oct.How much horse power would that be?THANKS
ABE -- Any new info on the SCAPEX kit R&D ???

I would estimate hp at 12 psi and 3 gaskets to be in the area of 245 + or -. We have a customer that got one of the first systems we offered for testing that has high compression pistons (wisco high comp with 1 stock head gasket) and is running 50/50 at 10 psi for over a year now with no issues but he is very careful to not overheat the sled and has tuned it with a wide band 02. Most boost related failures related to cyl temp I have seen usually have alot to do with the engine being overtemp.
As of today we are getting ready to do some summer testing and tuning in the high Uintah Mts for the 4th. We will be testing stage II and III Apex and Vector. Everything is going better than expected (knock on wood) which means we may have production units early this fall. I beleive this will be our last test session in the field because the snow is very thin as of my recon trip yesterday.

Blue shadow,
Be sure of the 91 oct, around here our gas is not
always the best thats why everyone is saying mix
race fuel even a gal or two per tank with that setup.
Last season one of the guys at our local dealer tested
three different companies and it was from 89 - 92 now
there's trouble if you ended up with 89/90 and blew that
engine. I wonder if there is some kind of inexpensive
tester that you can buy to test the oct level???
This same guy that done the testing was very lucky last
year, he picked up two barrels of 112 race fuel from the guys
when they finished up the Targa ralley and at a good price from
what i hear.

its around 2.50-280 a litter around here 500+dollers a barrel for me that would be 3500$-4000$ + a season that is a little much it is what is giving me a hard time to decide i like the sc idea but whant to run at 14-16pounds of boost mpi tells me i have to do motor mods to go that high.the turbo guys tell me to run a head shim & a little race fuel no problem i dont know who is right but i can almost buy a new motor for the cost of my fuel bill.but i have not made my mind up yet.

Well,Thankyou Superabe,I really can not see why stacked gaskets wouldnt work with the SC.Would it not be a better idea to use a shim like the ones produced by Powderlites? Is it possible to get SC pulleys to produce 12 lbs boost then run a shim and pump premium and get about 230 HP,or how much power with 3 gaskets and the pulleys that are supplied vs the shim.
