Supercharger

Trader,
Are you having any "squeeling" sound? Since I had mine repaired, I have a sound that sounds like either a bearing going or a belt. I just can't tell which I think it is. I have stopped the sled and felt as close as I can get to the bearings and they don't feel hot.
I am not sure if this would be normal or not. I don't remember it before I had the cracked pulley problem. But that doesn't mean it wasn't there. The noise isn't getting worse, the belts don't appear to have any wear, and the bearings don't feel hot. But the noise is annoying when stopped and idling, so I hope it isn't normal.

Is it only at idle and slightly above idle? Is there any chance your belt deflection on your secondary needs adjusted?

I can say that I can only hear it at idle and slightly above.
I am going to check everything again today and see if I can't narrow it down.

Sounds like the secondary clutch belt deflection to me.

Try this simple test...... Take the belt off your clutch and start it. If the squeal goes away then it is belt deflection.

I have ben around this sled and the noise is no way in the drive belt. If the drive belt made that amount of noise your belt would die in 5 min. The unit looks very clean and will be very good when all is worked out.

So How Has Your Supercharger Finally Worked out
Is it Working GOOD or NOT?
Have you put many miles on it
I would love some input on this system from a few people NOT SELLING them that have actully got some TRAIL MILES or Mountain Riding done with one.

The sled is fixed. The squeeling sound was a bearing going out. Seems there is a slight difference between the 03/04 and 05s (so I was told). This caused the bearing to be very slightly out of alignment.
I would recommend the kit to anyone. I am very pleased with it. I think the problems I am having are "teething issues" that are to be expected with a brand new product.
I have uploaded a couple of videos of the SC RX-1 and an 800 Escape and RMK 900.
The 800 is slightly modded/piped and the 900 is totally stock with only a couple of hundred miles on it.
Everyone did their best without getting stuck. I needed more mountain.
The videos are large as I haven't re-installed the software to shrink them. Sorry, too busy riding:-)

You made them look pretty silly!
That is a beating that looks like it was set up or not real. How does it run compared to a Turbo? When I first got my Turbo and raced people and climbed I thought everyone was letting off and letting me get ahead but these thing are that crazy!!
I'm woundering if the SC is the way to go with the new Apex because of room issues?

I will be installing a Supercharger on a 05 RX-1 ER this weekend, will have a forum member helping and watching as I do the install. Now we just need some snow so I'll have a chance to ride the dang thing! I'll take pictures and post a walk through of the install when I'm done!

excellent. I'll certainly be looking forward to it. Will you be doing the MPI version?

Monker, yes it is a MPI model!

I to will be very interested. I can't let Monker get a leg up on me, right Corey?
