Next, you could use the struts & belly pan out of the VK 540. Struts are light weight and I'd suspect to be less expensive than four a-arms, two spindles, two shocks etc. The only bad thing is this could be viewed as a step backward. I'd rather see a beginner sled be similar in concept to the Raptor 125 and 250. They've feature very similar suspension designs as the larger sport quads, just on a smaller scale. Plus they can be modified for increased performance.

I'm so with you there... A-arms are good but in narrow terrain and deep snow I prefer Struts. Building no ice and doesn't carry half of the Forrest with them. And Yamaha is lacking a real workhorse right now. The RS Viking is to big and to heavy. So for a vehicle for use in professional work at power lines or timber hauling a updated VK 500 4-stroke could be something.
