Looking to develop or find and if necessary create a list of verified parts that have been determined to be Arctic Cat and/or Yamaha.

From reading and conversations I am getting contradictory comments as to which components are who's.

I'll mention a few that appear to be undisputed:

On the Yamaha SW:
Suspension including rear skid - AC
Clutch - Yam.
Engine - Yam

I have some saying chain case is cat - others claim Yam.

If you claim one way or the other how do you know... by observation with a direct comparison looking at both side by side?

What else?

There have been so many changes that nobody really knows what changes came about because of Yamaha or Cat input. Hood and windshield at least the ones that go down side are specific to Yamaha as well as the skis.

Chain case is undisputedly Cat.

Yes it seems the only way to know would be a tear down of each right next to one another.

Then of course there may be engineering collaboration so who owns that?

No, not required.
On a Winder, the clutches are Yamaha as well as the engine and skis. The Yamaha's use slightly different body work.
The Yamaha's have their own shock packages which may or may not be the same spec as Cat.
The sled is otherwise all Cat.

Shock packages are different but the shocks are all identical. I/E a QS3r on a Cat and Yamaha if same length skid are identical even down to the Cat part # on them. SRX springs havent compared yet. They might be different since I dont believe Thundercat is lowered?

Tcat is lowered

Jack shaft different.
Snow flap

Just a quick question, the Sidewinder would be running Yamalube in its engine for the Winder, is Cat using Yamalube in the T Cat or their own oil from lube tech?

The engine isnt filled the tank is and thats at a Cat factory so would bet its the same oil too.

Had me wondering where Cat has its own brand oils listed for all the 4 strokes engines including the 7000 series from Yamaha but none listed for the 998.

When I bought mine back in November the dealer told me Yamaha had their own specs. He said they have different specs for the idler wheel bearings and steering parts like rod ends. I had to laugh to myself as much as this would be nice I find it very hard to believe it's true. Didn't help when his next statement was I should buy the 4th wheel kit because when the bearing fails I'll be stranded, which I'm aware of but thought it was funny seeing how he just got done telling me he's had customers decide to change them with 10,00 miles just because lol.

Best way to look at it is set a 12 and 13 procross next to a viper and sidewinder. All the updates I feel are mostly Yamaha driven. Collaboration on the fix. They started with the big stuff and started working down the list to iron things out year by year. I think they have made some good strides and offer a quality product aside from few issues some have. It’s common issue but not as significant as it’s made out to be in a lot of cases

I agree with that statement. Early on there were improvements that some of the Cats didnt even get such as Hyvo chain and a Manual tensioner. 7000 and Viper got them but no other cats first year. Gears in case also were made alot stronger. And I believe to this day that Yamaha screwed up the valving in the 14 and 15 shocks. Cat never had shocks that bad. Know for sure no one with any real credibility has ever shared exactly who did what.
