Hey, I've got an 03 rx-1 mountain and want to swap the rear suspension. I trail ride mostly but got this mountain at such a good price i couldn't turn it down.

I figure I can make it into an awesome sled with some mods. First being the rear end. I'll be widening it in the front at the same time but I really want to know what you guys think the best rear suspension is???

I know M-10 is susposed to be great but I've never ridden a sled with it. I have ridden the new artic cats and think there's is pretty good and have read about a few people swapping them into Yamies??

I would love some insight from the guys that know.

Thanks in advance :4STroke:

I dont know about trails. But I have holz rear suspesion on my '03. It lost 34 lbs and rides great, transfers weight a hell of alot better than the stock skid. You use the stock rails and just replace all of the suspension components.

IMO: Make sure your rear skid is setup correctly, for your weight. If the skid is off, it rides like sh!t I've ridden some real nice 121" Pro-Action setups (shock mods) that almost put my EDGE to shame too.

There are a lot of different skids out there. Michael from Bullydog has a very nice rear suspension, Holz has a good one, MPI has one but the H arms are not very reliable, M-10, etc. You can also put an Arcitc Cat skid in there for pretty cheap. If you look in the suspension section you will probably get a better look at the different suspensions that are out there.
