there's no performance gain..in fact there should be a performance loss! and also the money loss!
Hurt performance?
The gas is so shitty now I didn't think it would hurst to run better fuel

Back when companies were Dynoing the Apex's, it made no difference and the odd time would see a decrease in performance (on the dyno) if using premium fuel over regular.
Sure the fuels are different now than those years, but still. Most Apex's haul on 87..why throw the money away (unless your boosting, etc)

From what I learned on the 2-stroke side, 91 burns slower/cooler than 87, thus preventing detonation. I think many people believe it burns cleaner and/or makes your sled faster.

What about additives. I run Startron. If I'm at a national place and know I will empty the tank some times I won't add it, but if I'm at a mom and pop shop I add it for sure.

Dont by the 07 and up RTX unless you like the ride of a buckboard. I replaced my RTX suspension with a GT with the electric Ohlins. I am 280 pounds so I also bought the dual rate Hygear spring and it is worth every penny. I didnt even revalve my shock when I put it in. Also the bigger sway bar pilot skis with shaper bars. I did a widening kit as well and love that fast cornering. I also upgraded to the WRX seat I love that too. THe only issue I have is now the windshield is a bit low and cold, but I am 6'4" tall. I also upgraded the handlebar warmers and no more cold hands ever. Lastly I did the HID headlights and even in snow and not so great conditions they are way better than stock. I have a ram air lid (not sure it really did anything except make the sled louder, Hauck exhaust (again just louder) a Hauck clutch kit and the Hauck fuel accelerator. I plan to upgrade and put the Ulmer airbox (much quieter) excell bigger headers stock exhaust Ulmer clutch kit and the Power COmmander fuel processor in it. I like the PC and I am familiar with it I have on e on my Hayabusa. I htink lastly next year I will have the head ported and I htink they make a timing key for it to increase the timing. I thiink I read I could get 20HP with all of that.

I guess its opinion, but my 03 RX1 was junk I put a Skidoo SC10 III in it and it was much better. I bought the 07 RTX and that was horrible. I tried I think it was Pioneer rebuilds of the shocks and new spring etc still garbage on a stutter bump. You could jump it off a house and it was OK, but I really didnt want my sled as a ditch banger. I went Mono with the Ohlins and a Hygear dual rate spring and a WRP seat and it is pretty damn good. THe WRP seat is a bit firm compared to stock, but I love the higher riding position and the shape for leaning around corners.
