Ya the whole sled was ratty, I’m writing it off as a dud and still shopping. Seems like the first logical mod for cornering is the 13mm sway bar.

What mods?
First time I took my Attak for a trip I just about flipped it. Had to learn how to drive the Delta chassis after riding the No Action Pro Action for almost 10 years.
Once I got used to it and did a few mods to make it handle similar to my old trailing arm sleds, I will never go back to the older Yamaha chassis.
Lots.What mods?
Different front shocks and springs (GYTR) and set to "0" preload.
Rear shock rebuilt and revalved and a heavier spring. I went with the Barn of Parts multi rate.
Yamaha Mtn skis with aggressive Snowtrackers
12mm sway bar
Transfer rod set to close to "min" transfer
Oil lite bushings in the entire front end
Ice Attack track ( pre studded RipsawII)
Many little back and forth tweaks in springs and shocks for my weight and riding style.
Just like anything else it took time and money to get my sled to the point it is now. Not sure what was more tho, time or money.

Polished tunnel, the PO took good care of her! Nice sled! Ride and come back with specific complaints about what you don't like. They can rail and be faster and handle better then any 2 stroke, just takes more tinkering. We can get you there!

Thanks!! How do I know what sway bar is in it? Do larger diameter bars need different bushings or something?

the larger sway bars use all the stock hardware other than on the 03 rx1's.
only way to tell is to pull it out and measure it in the middle that i know of.

I bought a Pioneer Performance 13mm swaybar local for $50 today. Too bad the snow is gone and trails close in a few days.

nice 08. You'll love the ohlins, i added them to the front of mine. My buddy had the LTX 136" track. he added the 13mm sway bar and pilot skis. handled better with no darting or ski lift but still a bit heavy steering. you might not have a problem with it but i needed the EPS with my shoulder when i upgraded.
have you ever rode an Apex before?

This sled has the snowtracker carbides which are supposed to steer a bit easier.
If I feel it’s too heavy I will get this:

Never driven an apex other than the few minutes test driving around the guys yard.

I came from the SRX. With the 4 stroke you'll need to learn not to back off the throttle all the way coming into corners at speed otherwise it'll nose dive from the engine braking. it does save your brake pads thou LOL. that was the hardest part to remember but didn't take long to catch on thou. i also don't back off the throttle all the way going down step hills or slowing right down but rather feather the brake to avoid the belt getting sucked down into the secondary from back shifting, especially if you hit the throttle again before coming to a complete stop.
you'll like it, have fun with it
